Great example of YMMV

I saw the BBS-1 sold listings on Ebay today. The prices that some people paid for them are very high. And I wonder. Is it the most desirable modern razor?

With the craze around the BBS-1, I'd say it just might be the most desirable modern razor, maybe even modern or not. Some offers that were/on the table for a titanium bbs-1 is pretty unreal!

There are some that must have "that most desirable thing" and it is an end in itself  James, without question creates a work of art with the BBS-1, but there are other razors that perform as well for me.  Admittedly, none look so damn nice.

I would agree with this. I have seriously tried them all. Nothing is built better or shaves better than the BBS-1. Absolutely no comparison. That's why the titanium one is so desirable.

I agree except I think the stainless steel - original version - is the best DE razor on the planet.

I really can't imagine myself having two of these amazing razors, but I'm very happy with the one I have. It will stay with me forever. It has its own story for me.

Hello all,
After a waiting time of 1 year I finally had the oportunity to buy the bbs-1 (#318) from John at lashavingsoap. The razor is trully beautifull and special. After 3 shaves I just struggle finding the correct angles. It is the one with the handle closer to the face or the one with the handle almost perpendicular to the ground and so away from the face?
Thank youSmile

Handle away from the face.. keep experimenting and you'll find it. I had he same issue when I started using the razor but once you find it, it's very easy to use

This sounds very interesting, as the ATT S2 is on my next purchase list.
Can anybody confirm that this closed comb razor feels very much like the ATT open comb slant?
Those are two razor with what, on the surface, looks like very different properties..

It's a long time, but since you're on the list, you must consider yourself lucky.

I didn't believe I would ever say that, but some products like this one deserve the wait for sure. It eventually pays off. You will love it.

I used it again today.

The best DE razor I've tried by a wide margin.

When did you get on the list?  Just trying to figure out where I may be on it.
