I decided to make my first WSP purchase over the weekend when I was able to combine a sale on 'dented tins' and a Black Friday coupon ... The result was a container of "Formula T Barbershop" for $8.08 after sales tax.

"Wait, sales tax?" is what you might be thinking. And it's true, Lee's shop is in Arizona and is only 25 minutes from my house. Better yet, he has (limited) storefront hours! So, after a quick e-mail (he responded on Sunday!) I was able to get reimbursed shipping and pick up my order in-store. I e-mailed when I was on my way since I knew from traffic I'd be a little late. I pulled up at 5:04. It's an industrial area without a parking lot - looks like each building has a garage area from the side alleys.

My package was bagged and ready to go, but the shelves were nicely stocked and faced, with testers of all the soaps and aftershaves, so (knowing it was already past closing) I asked if I could stay a few minutes to explore. There are some nice scents, and Vetiver is my second favorite to Barbershop and tempted me, but I stuck with my single purchase for today - I know that it's only a quick drive over to get more if I like the performance.

One of the best things about wet shaving is the fact that the artisans are all small businesses, and today I got to support one just a town over.

I will note for those interested in WSP that the 4.7oz listed weight includes the container, it is not a net weight.
And don't hesitate to buy a dented tin! It isn't severely dented and the sticker is slightly off-center. No big deal!

The Formula T is a good performing soap for me.  Thanks for posting pictures.  Looks like a nice shop.  It's great to be able to check out all the scents in person before buying.

Yeah it was great to sniff them all. I think about folks who visit Maggard Razors or Bullgoose or Pasteur's with a touch of envy from a SSAD (shave soap acquisition disorder) perspective!

I agree, for a store I figure is more mail-order than retail, everything looked great and organized.

I stop in every once in a while myself, and I have a friend who uses them exclusively for purchases and honing.  He's big on shopping local, so he was thrilled when I took him there.

I had a great time when I visited. I smelled everything and got a little tour of the shop. I saw where they make and package their soaps and AS.

I was back in the area during business hours, so I stopped in today to buy a body soap - I finally opened the sample they sent me with my first order and it's very good and moisturizing.

While there I met their soap maker, got a tour, and left with some more samples to go with my purchase!

What I didn't know until today is that they do private labels for more than Bullgoose (Asylum). I was also told they're talking about a woman's line with scents like Rose.

Mike, you're lucky to have a nice shave shop nearby. I've been to both Pasteur's locations, but I Really want to get to BullGoose one of these days!

Someone posted a while back about doing a national shave shop road trip. That'd be fun only for me. My wife would never be interested in a trip like that.
