I picked up a mint condition 1974 Gillette Super Adjustable at a consignment store for a mere $10. It wasn't in its original packing, but it did have a Gillette platinum blade in it. What a great razor. I have been using a 1951 Aristocrat, but I will definitely rotate the two now. Any opinions about the Super Adjustable?

I prefer the balance and weight on mine to my Fatboy and find the head geometry is just a tiny bit slimmer too, which makes shaving under my nose easier. Overall it's a great razor. Mine is a little grungy (so is the Fatboy I use as a shaver) and I like using both so much that I am considering getting both replated or recoated to bring them back to "better than new" shaving condition.

I love the super adjustable. I too like it more than the fat boy.

I think the SA84 is one of the sexiest looking razors Gillette ever made. It gets me all juiced for a good shave. I impulsively and foolishly paid way too much for two well preserved examples, yet couldn't get a smooth shave out of either one. They both left my skin raw. No kidding, they both bit me in the same place every time (left cheek), where no other razor has done that before or since. The mechanisms worked properly, yet even set to as low as one or two I still drew blood. I could still be tempted though, if another super clean piece came my way. It's a sweet looking razor. Enjoy!
