Hi All,

Is there anything that is as good as sapnoficio varesino or even better than that?.I find this soap just remarkable with its performance. At least to me it clearly beats some of the best soaps that I own.
The ease of lather , the cushion , the glide and the post shave feeling is just outstanding.
As a matter of fact, czech and speake no 88 that i own performs just as well as Saponficio varesino. I would like to pick up the next best based on the feedback from you guys.

Following is the list of soaps/creams that I own

MDC
Czech and speake no 88
I coloniali Mango
Penhaligons Blenheim bouquet
DR Harris Arlington
Mitchell wool fat
Valobra
Tabac
L'occitane Cade
Prorarso
Razorrock XXX
Acuqa di parma
Castle forbes

cheers!!!!

If you've found your holy grail, stick to it I say. SV is indeed an excellent soap and represents superb value because it's triple-milled. The average daily shaver could probably get a year's worth of shaving out of one puck!

To answer your question, here are my choices separated by commercial and artisan:

Commercial:
- Valobra (Art of Shaving tallow, Valobra, Czech & Speake)

Artisan:
- Barrister & Mann Glissant base
- L&L Grooming bison base
- Bufflehead
- Tallow + Steel
- LA Shaving Soap black clay base
- Catie's Bubbles luxury soap base

Bear in mind none of the artisan soaps will even come close to SV's value for money. Only Valobra will because it's also triple-milled. SV also has excellent presentation with the horn and resin bowls, topped only by Czech & Speake's aluminum dishes.

Given that SV is a non-tallow soap I would compare it to Nuavia, though Nuavia would be the winner by a sizable marigin for me.

Good evening.

I echo what has been said about your good fortune in finding a soap that really performs well for you. Congrats on that.

In my den, two soaps are standouts at present, CRSW and Klar Seifen.

There are certainly others that perform very, very well. Others here have, and will, enumerate their choices.

To respond to your question, "Is there anything as good as SV?" Yes there is. And you, like others, have opportunity to try various products to determine how YOU answer your question.

Happy Hunting!

PannaCrema Nuavia
Barrister & Mann
SMN v3
Bufflehead
Soap Commander

Those are some of my favorites. I honestly could almost list every soap I've ever used as better than SV as it simply did not perform well for me in any way, shape, or form.

I own all the Sapo Vare soaps made, and I love them all.

Are they my absolute top performers ? No, but they are solid in my Top 10.

Better and equally good perfomers:

Nuavia
B&M
CRSW Select
Tabula Rasa
Klar Seifen
Czech & Speak
AOS Tallow
Caties Lux
SDM
LPL
I Coloniali
and the other ususal suspects I have mentioned on here 100 of times.

I'm also a big fan of Sapo Varesino's scents in their soaps.

Thanks for your reply!!!
If i go for B & M, there are wide range of soaps. Are there any differences in the quality of the soap made apart from the scent.

Yes,

you have the older white tubs, the newer glissant formulation and then the cheaper Latha. But all perform well.

ABC. Fantastic soap great lather and ease of use. The almond scent took a bit to grow on me but I love it every time I use it.

I am very intrigued by Saponificio Varesino's ingredient list - therefore I shall try it.

If my shipment with my brushes and Stella Alpina soap ever get released from Customs, it'll be my next shave.

That's high praise indeed! I'm very familiar with B&M glissant and L&L buffalo, just bought some Saponificio Varesino Cosmo, have not tried it yet, but I look forward to the experience!
