The rule is simple my friend: hold on to that razor!!!

I don't keep track but I have a pretty good idea
Of what I've spent , I am a man of meager means
And I have about $700. Invested in something
That I thoroughly enjoy and consider to be well
Worth the money , I have 5 different razors 1 brush
1 soap 1 after shave and a truckload of blades  14
Different blades and I hoard them my blade stash
Is large enough to last way past my lifetime , but
Yet I'll most certainly be adding more blades to
The stockpile , that's what happens when you
Comedown with a servere case of B.A.D. and l've
Got it bad.

My wife would kill me if i kept up with the total cost.

I currently own.

20 brushes
20 razors
12 aftershaves
350 blades
120 soaps..... yes 120 soaps.

I dont even want to know what ive spent. But i love this hobby so its worth it.

For brushes (36) and razors (6) I do.  But for shaving cream, blades and aftershaves I don't; they are consumables and I buy only what I need for my daily shaves.

I keep track of money spent only when I am low on cash.

I remember when I first considered wet shaving. I was attracted to the art though was more intrigued by the money I would save in a period of 1 year. The next month my girlfriend bought me a Dovo Astrale, Escali badger brush along with a $15 strop for Christmas. One year later and she still says it was the worst decision she ever made.

No.....wait, I thought we were playing "he who dies with the most vintage soaps wins"? Does going bankrupt even matter at that point if you are winning?

.......I'm Pyro and I have a problem.

For any decision that she makes that doesn't turn out well my wife always says that it's the second worst decision she's ever made.

Negative. This has definitely not been a money saving venture. I wonder what percentage actually are minimalist and just stick to what is needed.

There was a time when I was happy with one $25 razor and a $15 shave cream. That was it. Then something happened and suddenly I have more hardware and software than I know what to do with. This is even after selling off singles and lots on an almost-monthly basis. I'm afraid of looking at the total cost I've put in, but I can rest easy knowing that I spend way less on this hobby than I did as a former sound-chasing audiophile. That's a real money suck imo.

For those curious, my estimated# of shaves is based on shaving 6 out of every 10 days. And blades count as software in my eye.
