Saponificio Varesino and Asylum Shave Works are collaborating on a new limited edition shaving soap to be released this winter or early spring. The shaving soap will utilize SV's latest formula, will come in aluminum tins and will have aluminum labels. The scent will be a blend of tobacco, leather and cedar wood and the tentative name is Saddle Shop. More details to come.

Very nice !!! I can't wait
What is the size of the tin? Same as cosmo & asylum colonia? If yes , is it possible to introduce tins with bigger diameter ? Cosmo tin is little small

Saponificio Varesino's newest formula (the 4.3 in the Stella Alpina) is a real step forward, in my experience. Cosmo and 70th are fine performers, but the 4.3 in the SA is great. My only wish was that they would make a more 'earthy' fragrance. Tobacco? Leather? Cedar? Perfect. Can't wait.

Really happy to hear this Phil. I used Flying Mango last week and feel that it is possibly the second best performer of SV releases. Cosmo is #1, but #2 is a tie between Manna and Flying Mango. Stella Alpina I will admit is very nice indeed.

Looking forward to the new scent. Marco did a great job on the recent soaps. Plan to get a couple and maybe a backup of Colonia.  Biggrin

The tin will likely be the same size as the Colonia and Flying Mango soaps because the soap puck will be the same size.

I was gifted a tin of Cosmo for Christmas. If the new soap is as nice, scentwise, then I expect I'll sucumb and purchase one.

sigh

Sounds wonderful. I love their soaps, but am not a fan of the standard packaging.

Not to derail the thread but I currently don't have any soap from the maker and was looking at adding these two items and am wondering what you guys have to say about either product.

The 70th Anniversary soap and balm is currently the most popular SV soap and balm. The soap is easy to lather, slick and lasts forever. The balm is soothing, absorbs easily and is not greasy. Scent, of course, is subjective.
