this is a razor thin choice, seriously little difference for me, both are superb blades, slight edge (another pun!) to Kai

I have both in my blade inventory and have shaved with them, in different razors. My feelings are the KAI is thicker and stiffer, both are very sharp, both work best in milder razors. If given only these two to pick from I'd go with KAI.
Since my daily drivers are H1 or H2 heads, I prefer other blades and haven't used either KAI or Feather in quite a while.

In a blindfold test I doubt I could tell them apart. Astra SP is up there too.

I feel like I get more reduction out of each pass with a feather, but kai's seemed to pull off the same quality shave in the end with less irritation - just took more passes / touchups.

Almost all blades are .004 including Kai. The Kai is stiffer though, different heat treatment maybe?

Quote:"TobyC,

I'm sorry for the late reply. My hard drive failed and, with other things getting in the way, I'm just getting back to normal with a new drive and operating system.

I'm not yet doing regular measurements, but I do have some numbers for you. I had already measured the thickness, using my digital micrometer, of one KAI blade as 0.100 mm. Just for you, in order to give you some Feather numbers here, I cleaned and measured the two Feather blades that I had in my bank as 0.102 mm and 0.104 mm. I hope that that satisfies your curiosity at the moment. In time, with regular measurements, I'll accumulate enough data to have means, standard deviations, and min. and max. ranges of blades. That's the goal."

Feathers have become one of my top 2 blades. Tried Kai and they tore up my face apart. Kais felt thicker - would be surprised to learn of that not being true.

It isn't even a comparison for me, Kai all the way. Feather are rough and uncomfortable in almost every razor I've tried them in. Kai on the other hand, are much smoother from the very first shave.

Both really fine blades, I prefer the Feather by a little bit, with Kai a close second of all the other blades I've tried.

Kai's feel more stiff to me and I can feel the blade, Feathers to me are lil more sharp and less smooth.

Great blades.

KAI for me. Similar sharpness but increased smoothness, and I get more shaves per-blade vs. feathers.

I really like this philosophy! I think it appropriate to use to encourage single folks in their quest for marriage. At least the guys will appreciate it.

Close call.  I give a slight edge to Feather. A little smoother on the first pass with my course stubble.
