So far a Portland Razor should be here in about a month.  Later during the year I hope to get MdC new scents.

As much as I say I need nothing, I realize that that thought lasts but a few minutes.  So for me:

At least 3 more Shavemac customers

At least 2 more Wiborgs providing his wait time has shortened

And 5 or so soaps and creams.  I have to decide if I want products that have been around for some time or relatively new products.

And a Thater 4125 fan shape, 2 band*

Above The Tie M2 or R2 base plate for my Kronos 5 piece set*

*These two just came to mind while I was typing this, so with that I am going to close.

  • Shavemac flat top.
  • Varlet?
° It's getting harder to stay interested in this one every week as seeing anyone get a new one seems to be increasingly rare.

  • G20 scuttle.
I stocked up big time on blades in the last couple years. Soaps too. I have more brushes than I'd care to keep. I don't think any new razor will catch my eye unless it's something very special.

I'm quite interested in quality over quantity.
Not necessarily expensive mind you.
I have always appreciated high quality and aesthetically appealing practical gear.

This year my goal will be to get some of my collection downsized and also upgraded.

It's nice to have so many razors and brushes to choose from. I just think it will be more satisfying to narrow it all down to the stuff I really love or actually look forward to using.

The toughest part for me is always finding the time to narrow down my favorites.

Maybe I should say that in 2017 I hope to acquire more free time after work and on the weekends first and foremost to enjoy this and my other hobbies. That would be nice.

Also I'm zero'ing in on a new razor.. right now I'm thinking about ATT S2 (my friend has one and loves it)
CRSW the new line, L&L grooming, more Jabonman, more Barrister & Mann, more.. (you get the picture)

I've been trending in the opposite direction, shrinking my den of unused items late last year.  I'd really like to try one or two of new artisan soaps, but need to clear some of the backlog first (I think the last artisan item I purchased was QCS cream years ago).

That being said, a Timeless razor purchase is imminent.  Can't resist...

My 2017 purchases:

Razor: A Timeless open comb bought at the end of last year, but I added the Timeless pineapple design handle and stand at the beginning of this year:

Two shaving brushes from Brad Sears:
• An ArchDuke/28 Manchurian in the mail
• A Morris & Forndran Polo on order.

Three shaving soaps: Cold River Soap Works (Citron soap with matching aftershave), and Mystic Water Soap (Marrakesh and Irish Traveller)

That should do me in for the rest of the year...except there is a very significant item that has been on my wish list for a while now: A Wolfman Titanium razor (I’m hopeful but, of course, uncertain about this one)!

I just ordered a Semogue 2000 brush.   I have no intention in trying to reduce what I spend on shaving.  It is my hobby spending, and I operate within my limits =)

I need to pace myself this year so my list is a little light. One more razor from both Aust and Sprecher. I'll be on the hunt for some new colognes, looking to broaden my horizons and get out of my current rut. A few soaps, mainly Jabonman and CRSW. I'm trying hard to resist more brushes, bought entirely too many the past years.

So thanks to the Enabler that ^^ plan is kaput. Just placed an order for a couple of new wet shave trinkets I've been jonesing for. Damn those coupon codes!

Thanks, Phil Wink

It's all about quality for me as well. For this reason I don't have much gear but only the very best (from my perspective of course) two razors, 9 brushes and 5 soaps (much more sitting in cabinet unused- however only 5 are used regularly)
As you can see there isn't much room for reduction, tried to downsize brushes but I really struggled so I am just keeping what I have for now with absolutely no additions in 2017 (hopefully)

Definitely getting more soaps and aftershaves . Probably going to try and get everything B&M puts out this year . Also would like to add some brushes (Paladin Lotus) is my first choice . As far as razors I think I'm good unless something that really knocks my socks off comes out .

Looking in the rearview mirror of 2017....

A resto-mod Heljestrand with Max Sprecher scales that came across an auction site.

Looking forward....

These Timeless DEs seem pretty cool to have on hand when a straight shave isn't in the cards.
