Are Gilettte DE blades still being manufactured or are the ones you get today manufactured a while ago?

if a Merkur blade is a 1 on the sharpness scale and a Feather is a 10. What would you rate these:

Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum
Gilleteb7 o'clock perma sharp stainless
Gillette silver blue
Gillette Nancet stainless

I believe Gillette currently manufactures blades in Russia, India, Thailand, and Vietnam. I think Russian Permasharp are generally considered the sharpest of the Gillette blades though I'm sure many would argue the point. Astra are also Gillette manufacture.

I did not know Perma sharps were also made in India.

I generally stay with only Russian made blades, and my favorites are, PermaSharp, GSB, 7 oclock greens, and Nacets.  However, I lile Polsilvers the most.

I wasn't a fan of the Gillette Silver Blue. I do like the Gillette Platinum (dark blue/white box, Russia), Gillette 7 o'clock super platinum (black India, blue Czech/Russia), Gillette 7 o'clock Sharpedge (Russia), Astra Super Platinum (Russia). All the Russian ones are made in the same plant. You can also get NOS blades made in the US, UK, France, etc. that last longer. Some of the Russian blades shave almost as well, but don't last as long. Lately in Walgreens there have also been NOS blades from Brazil, but I don't know how long those will last. I didn't particularly love them, and think the Russian blades are a better deal. Cheers

Just to be clear -- the wording really matters. GKR1 refers to the "Perma sharps" but to avoid confusion ----

  1. "Perma Sharp Supers" are made in Russia (St. Petersburg) -- note two words
  2. 7 o'clock greens made in India are labeled "Permasharp Stainless" -- note one word.
  3. 7 o'clock greens made in Russia are labeled "Super Stainless"
So two green packages -- made in different places -- not the same blade.

And two "Permas" -- one "Perma Sharp" and one "Permasharp."

Read carefully, boys! Know what you're getting.

If I weren't such a trusting soul,  Angel  I'd think they do stuff like this purposely.
