Hi

I thought I'd share some photos of my latest brush. [Image: QzsVfhn.jpg][Image: yTiauhu.jpg]

The sticker identifies the brush as a Rooney .This is supported by the red box, which is typically used by Rooney. Neither the brush, nor the case, have Rooney decals or identifying marks.

I have not been able to find any information about this brush and I have no idea of its age etc. The box does have No 302 written on it, by the way.

I have shown the brush alongside of my Simpson Duke 2, Milk Churn and Persian Jar 2, to give it some scale. The overall height is 105mm, the loft is 55mm and the knot is 23mm wide. The weight is 89 grams.

Any feedback re its history or if you've seen similar, would be appreciated!

Adam

That is a beautiful brush.  I don't have any solid dating answers for you, but if I had to guess I would say 1980s or 90s.

That is a very nice find Bunbury.

I love Rooney brushes. I have a Simpsons version of that brush which is very similar to yours.

Nice big brush there.

Definitely a Rooney. I know that label. I have only ever seen it on Rooneys.

The Simpson looks good too, very good. Similar but the Rooney doesn't have that middle ring.
