It's always a great day when new soaps arrive.

It's an even better day when they come from Cold River Soap Works!

I know with EO the scents change and come out while lathering.

To me the 5 scents are a win.

I'll start with the one that surprised me.

Arctica was the one that had my interest as I stay away from anything peppermint. This one really surprised me tho. It's very pleasant with fir and I think rosemary detected at first sniff. It will be the first I use.

Citron is amazing to my nose. I love citrus and what has been done with this one. It's very organic and not synthetic at all. Just a clean medley of goodness.

Lavish is a masterpiece. The citrus with the lavender make for an incredible first sniff with great depth. Many lavender are one dimensional and believe me this one is not.

If you like vetiver then Juniper is for you. I personally love vetiver so this is a big win for me. The juniper berry soften the earthiness of the vetiver in all the right ways.

Last but not least is Cypress. What a great earthy woodsy scent. Vary masculine. I get woods with a slight pine on the back end.

Now keep in mind these are all sniffs and the lather is where they should shine so over the next week I plan on getting to know these better.

The presentation is top notch for me. Larry has always had some of the best understated packaging in the business and these didn't disappoint me at all. Very clean and none of the stuff that's not needed.

Overall I'm very pleased and cannot wait to hear yalls thoughts as well as the new soaps and balms arrive!

So please share your thoughts.

Pics are highly encouraged!

I got the Juniper.  It's driving me crazy as it smells similar to a product I had 7 or 8 years ago, but I can't figure out what that product is.  Smells great btw!

The soap descriptions sounds great. I will be putting in an order for the Arctica as summer closes in.

The scents that interested me were Juniper and Cypress.  Juniper was sold out, and I'm waiting on the Cypress to arrive.

From the pictures I can see that the new plastic tubs are quite elegant and fitting for a top tier soap.

Got my Juniper. Smells a lot like L&L Marshlands and I wasn't thinking it would be this vetiver forward. Smells great!

First shave with Citron under my belt.  Not just the scent but the performance is fantastic. Thick and slick. You can tell high quality EO's are in use here.

I'll give a more detailed report after another couple uses, but right off the bat I'm very impressed!

Thanks for the comparison.  I'm familiar with Marshlands, so your comparison is quite helpful.  Sounds like a great soap for those who like vetiver.

I'm not getting that comparison at all. I know scent is open to interpretation, yadda yadda yadda but Marshlands is powdery lemon citrus dirty and swampy. Haven't shaved with it yet but Juniper is like you just took a fresh handful of juniper needles and crushed them in your hands. Piney resinous with a light back end of fresh earth. Fresh juniper is how I would describe Juniper. Powdery dirt is how I would describe Marshlands.

I'll sneak Lavish and Cypress into the house in my briefcase this evening, although my wife is a master at identifying any new container. The scents are outstanding, and I can't wait to lather one or both up tomorrow morning.

All are 3/5 i.e. clean, fresh, and not cloying.
I'm pleased.

WOW, that's disappointing as I hated the smell of Marshlands. Knew I should have picked Lavish instead

I love Juniper.
I have no experience with L&L.

Mine should arrive tomorrow so I'm going to hope for the best. Am really looking forward to the first shave with Larry's new formula but if it does smell like Marshlands I just won't be able to do it, I disliked the scent that much.  Confused
