The difference is grade of hair and that 620 is dyed and treated to have a badger look.under this treatment something is done to the hair so this brush is softer from the get go.

I prefer 610 because of the look of pure white boar hair Biggrin and that you can feel this brush getting better and softer for every use.

But 620 is an amazing brush to. And the hair gives a special feel I have owned both of them.

You should have tried both semogue makes really good brushes.

I have only kept my semogue soc  that brush i have in badger 2band and boar that is a GREAT BRUSH   Aaaaa

i prefer more tough fibers, because i have ingrown hairs often and tough fibers and it is give me helps to extricate hairs under the skin ...

between the two ,who has more tougher fibers 610 or 620 ?
Thank you ...

I prefer the 610.  Not a fan of the dyed hairs.  It does something to the hairs I don't like.  They seem finer to me.  The 610 takes longer to break in, but to me is a better brush once they are both broken in.

As to the question of tougher hair, I would probably say the 610 as they are untreated, but that is not scientific, just my opinion.

The 610 will be softer when broken in and hypothetically have slightly less backbone.  Both should be pretty solid in that area, though, it's just the 90% tops will have more splitting than the 75% tops will.

Both are cheap and great if you can handle the tiny handle.

i just got the 620 and its my first boar brush.

it seems to do better with painter strokes vs circular motions.

i also noticed when i squeeze out the brush at the end of the shave...not much lather is hidden inside the brush (compared with the badgers i usually use).

is this what everyone else notices??

It will get a bit better with use, but it is just different than other hair types. Load more.

I've had both 610 and 620, and only kept the 620. I agree with many regarding the dyed hair, not my bag either, but I preferred the hairs after breaking in. It took almost 3 months to get the 620 really up to stride, which for many is far too long. Keep in mind this is using every other day to allow the bristles to dry fully, which is how the tips split. For whatever reason the 610 just didn't do it for me so I sold it. They're relatively cheap (18 bucks or so), plus the handles look really cool! Why not try both?

For what you prefer idan, go with the 610. The hair is tougher with a touch of scritch. Not a bad scritch though. For my preferences, perhaps slightly to the 620, but they're both great brushes.

The Semogue 620 seems to have more character and slightly stiffer backbone -YMMV!

Both handles are very small and uncomfortable in my view, so the hair quality is indifferent to me, as I can’t use the brush handle in the first place.
