Hello all, I am new to TSN. I have been wet shaving again for about 2.2 years, and a majority (<2 years) have been with a straight razor (honestly my RAD has resulted in my shaving with quite a few straight razors). I met doc47 in another forum, and he said that he had come over here as well. Looking around I see several people I know, some of them fairly well from the past couple of years. I look forward to being part of this community.

I learned to shave with a DE until I wen to Paris Island in 1976. Nothing but cartridges were allowed on the island, and it just stuck. Fast forward 2014 and I rediscovered the DE, followed very shortly by the straight. I hone my own and have a modest collection of rocks. I use the Kamisori with the Omote against the face. Some days the best part of my day is my morning shave. I am not sure if that says more about how good the shaves are, or how bad my life is Thumbup.

Thanks Tom. My name is Walt by the way. Unfortunately not enough posts to have a signature yet. Quick question, how do you put a location in your profile? I have no location option. Does this also require 10 posts?

Honestly, I don't know.  I think a mod added mine.  I don't have a place to edit it yet, but it must have to do with the number of posts?  Doc47 was wondering about this as well.

I guess we will find out. I'm from Central PA by the way.

Welcome Walt, glad you decided to join us. I presently enjoy DE, may soon go into SE, but still leery of straights. Sound like a great way to spend more money and like to keep my blood loss to minimum  . Yup, I'm chicken for now. Enjoy your time at the nook.  Cool

When you are ready to try a straight razor, I can make the process of learning a little easier. Just let me know. Dan
