I think the only benefit of 98 grams is the way to attract new customers. But when it is convinced, the 200 gram format is much more pleasant on all levels: mounting its foam, the lifetime of soap etc.

Today, I wished to make pictures of a foam climb from my LPL Pink of pushkar !!
Two very good passes, but using the lainess for the third pass, I admit that the soaps enriched in shea butter / mildew annuity Edit : Milk of anesse still protect more.

I wanted to present you the LPL LE RT 2016, my favorite, composed of tallow and shea butter:

It remains to my eyes, the most protective, a little more than is the apricot.

If you load your brush a bit more, you'll get a richer lather.

Also, I found that LPL soaps work better with a synthetic brush. Enough loading time, a few drops of hot water and the lather explodes. Like I said, LPL soaps are more protective than many other artisan soaps I've used and I'm not referring to the tallow edition. You just have to make a good, rich, long-lasting lather. This goes for every soap/ cream we use.

What do you mean by "mildew annuity"?

Hello,

It is a translation error. The real phrase is : milk of anesse.

It is true that it is "rather boring" with badgers in natural hair, the LPL need to be really loaded while with synthetic brushes, it foams much faster.

For several months, the entire LPL range has been enriched with shea butter.

The labels do not mention it for all because he had a big batch of labels to exploit before his change of style planned for 2018.

I recently received my Martin De Candre Rose Limited Edition, but the scent is far from as convincing as that of the LPL. However, the protection provided by the foam once mounted is still great.

I was wondering about it the other day when I was looking at their site.
What is wrong with their Rose scent... what's it like?

MdC rose has a healthy dose of benzoin resin in it, some folks like benzoin and others do not. It's kind of in the same scent family as oud, frankincense, styrax, etc.

That's about all there is to it. Personally I like MdC rose, but understand why some may not.

PapySnake, if you like LPL Rose de Pushkar, you might want to try D. R. Harris Twenty Nine cream. It's more similar to RdP than MdC rose, but you would never mistake one for the other.

Cheers, Steve

Hi Matt, there's a lot of rose. Be glad to send you a sample if you want. Yes I do, it is different though!

Cheers, Steve

Indeed, the Benzoin resin present in the MDC allows a better conservation of the HE during the months of drying of the MDC before their commercialization.

However, this distorts the final scent and some, of which I am a part, feel more of this very Provencal herb scent than the scent of rose itself.

(I did not see this earlier, sorry for the delayed response!)

Steve,
Thank you for your generosity!
But that won't be necessary. I have decided I will order the MdC Rose. I am going to buy some soaps for Xmas gifts to others in the family.

The question now is, should I add Citrus and/or Vetyver shave soaps???

I'm not a big fan of the citrus and the rose is not only my favorite MDC soap its my favorite period. MDC vetiver is very strong and earthy if you like that kind of thing.
Good Luck and enjoy

Thanks for your input.
Yeah, I can't really imagine a good outcome with citrus over the top of their "base smell" (with benzoin)... if that's actually the case, yes/no?

If I may chime in here on MDC Argumes (citrus) I own all MDC releases and the Argumes is the only soap that does not have that usual (benzoin) MDC base scent.

My favorite of all are Rose and Fougere. Argumes shares the second spot with the Vetiver, followed by the Original and Unscented.

Thanks for your thoughts...
I actually placed the order a couple days ago though... no Citrus...

Rose shave soap and some other goodies.
