I went on a bit of a binge with some of the holiday sales.   Biggrin

I have XPEC Original, Castle Forbes Lavender, Musgo Oak Moss, Alvarez Gomera Barberia and TOB's Grapefruit.

So far I really like the Musgo and XPEC. The only one I haven't used yet is Alvarez Gomera.

Maca Root shave cream by body shop.  Has the performance of any soap of cream, without the unicorn tallow or fairy dust.

Unicorn tallow... I’d try that in a soap!

I've mostly stuck to artisans, but of the few non-artisans I've tried, I would say that Castle Forbes & St. James of London really stand out!

Did you know that Haslinger recently reformulated the Schafmilch soap?  It is now a non-tallow soap.  I don't know whether the lather has changed at all, but in the past, when European companies have reformulated from tallow to veggie, it has almost always turned out not so well.

Yes to my dismay i learned about this recently, i have ordered a few of the old formular from one of my local shops, so i can enjoy my favorite soap just a bit longer. It's sad i don't understand why they did it, i don't think the new formula without the tallow will be as good as the old.

IMO the La Toja shaving creams - both classic and sensitive - provide a terrific shave at a terrific value - 2.89 Euros for 150ml tubes from our online friends in Valencia.

None of the soaps or creams I use I would consider artisan. My favorites are Yardley and old tallow English Fern, but of the ones still in production my favorite, at least currently,  is C&E Oxford & Cambridge overall. Among the creams I'd  have to say Floris 89.

ToBS most any scent except grapefruit! Really like sandalwood, but expect that after long use it would grow old.

If i use it, I love it. Life's too short to spend on shave products that don't wow you. My pocketbook puts substantial limits on what I can acquire otherwise my den would mirror our mutual friend John or churchillafemme almost exactly. The ones I've listed as my favorites are such by a slim margin, I'd be happy if i had to use only one of anything in my collection for the rest of my life. Except I wouldn't be happy having to only use one.

Maybe not my favorite but for sure deserves more talk than it currently receives in fora:

Speick stick

I used it tonight.
My last several shaves with it have been very, very good... Not quite Valobra performance but not terribly far off. (I used Valobra stick yesterday.)

9/10 all day long.
