Maybe someone needs to define artisan, because , for instance, I don't consider MWF an artisan brand but after seeing a photo of the little house it's made in.......I think in terms of sales numbers, how popular and widespread its availability is and how long its been around.

Acqua di Parma
Meissner Tremonia
Esbjerg
Klar / Dusy
I Coloniali
Speick
Annemarie Börlind

Meissner might be considered "artisanal", but the level of professionalism (and performance) puts "artisans" to shame.

I prefer all mentioned above to "artisan" stuff by quite a margin.

As a Meißner Tremonia fan, owning 18 shaving pastes and soaps, I agree that it's quality stuff.

But for me, I can't say it performs better than my favourite artisan makers such as Tabula Rasa, LPL, SDM, B&M, CRSW, Caties Lux nor Mike's Natural. I just can't. Because that would be a lie.
