I have several RRBS, the Baby Smooth. They're all in good to perfect shape, all have been shaved with several times. I bought these for 120 after they sold out the last time.

We'll see what happens, but I thought I'd list them. I've been using other things more, lately. $120 shipped, make offers.

Hi Ratty,

This is aluminum. They were originally made in aluminum and sold for $45, for a very short time. Then they were re-released and sold at $99, still in aluminum. I missed out on that second run and bought them for 120. To my knowledge, they have never been produced in steel.

For those of you who don't have one, this is a great razor.  I shaved with mine this morning.  The head design, taken from the Merkur 45, is simply one of the best ever made.  It's particularly good at shaving ATG on the neck area so if that's a problem area for you, this is the one.  I find the design more intuitive for navigating the curves of the neck than any other razor I own.

You bought more than one of them at 2.5-3x the original price?

Not exactly. When they sold out for $45, they sold out in under a minute. The manufacturer said at that time, there would never be any more made.

Then, many months later, he released a batch at $99, which also sold out equally fast. Again, he said there would never be more.

I bought them at $20 above the going price at that time, which didn't seem that unreasonable for a good razor that was unpredictable (to be generous) in terms of future production. So, not 2.5x-3x the price. More like 20% above the price when they last sold. Does that make sense?

He bought them at Italian barber, the price went up after success of small initial batches. It was stated on the website during the final run that these would never be made again. This model for the baby smooth is still not going to be made again according to joe
