Hello Everyone,
I am new to the Wet Shave Community! I just recently bought my FIRST Shave Brush, Soap, and Bowl, I have not bought a Safety Razor yet, as i am still watching Ebay for a great deal but hopefully will have one by the end of the week! i have been using the Brush and Soap for a few days now and i can already tell a difference when i use those as my face doesn't break out as badly after a shave like it did with the canned shaving cream. I am really excited to get into this Community! Thanks for ready God Bless and have a Great day!

It's great to have you in the Nook! What gear do you have already? Also, don't neglect your local antique stores. I've found a good bit of my kit this way.

I bought the Van Der Hagen Premium Shave Set From Walmart, it was cheap i think 8 bucks, its just enough to get my interest started! Biggrin I really want to get a Vintage Ever-ready C40 brush as that is what my grandfather had when i was a little boy, i still have it but its broke and not repairable, and as a matter of fact that's how i found this website is about Restoring old brushes! So that's about it, also if you know what a GOOD first Safety Razor would be that would be great information and greatly appreciated!

But that's too bad about your grandfathers brush..... I got my hubby started wet shaving awhile ago. But after he had been doing it awhile I was looking for something in the china hutch and came across his grandfathers or great grandfathers (i can never remember which) shaving brush and mug. The brush was just the silver handle and had long lost its knot but I was able to get it re-knotted from Tony at penworks.us and filled the mug with soap for his birthday. I sent Tony the brush handle and he glued in a new knot for me. So if you think it can be repaired that's another option.
