Just got the email that AoS has new line that is Oud scented! Anyone experience this one yet? I'm a fan of AoS creams, so this will likely be one of the few soaps/creams I add to my den this year Biggrin

Sounds worth a try. I may add a tube to my travel kit.

Anthony Esposito did a YouTube review, and absolutely RAVED about the scent.

I am interested too, maybe even enough to haul my sorry behind to the Mall (horrors) to get a sniff.  All the AoS creams perform superbly, but I'd still like a whiff before ponying up $30 (the smaller travel tube size isn't presently available)

In all honesty though, I am disappointed with all their new scents they came out with in the Fall (this Oud Suede is one of them). YMMV.
Maybe the Oud shave products (without the suede) smell better.

I may be doing the same thing this weekend. I am assuming the scent will be on the subtle side like the rest of their creams.

I wasn't overly impressed with their Oud Suede Cologne, but I imagine a more subtle version of it in shave cream would be more pleasing to me. And I do agree in that I hope the "suede" part is removed for the shaving line Biggrin

This is an interesting release, and I'll definitely go to my local AoS store to check out the scent.  It is priced slightly higher than their other shaving creams, which I guess reflects the more expensive essential or fragrance oil.  Additionally, although they released an entire Oud line, including a $22.00 bar of body soap, there is no Oud shaving soap.  However, I'm sure that the upcoming Oud based TSN/LPL LE soap will be better that any cream or soap AoS can put out.

I went to AOS last weekend and had a sniff. I'm on the fence for the time being. It's not bad by any stretch, but it didn't blow my socks off.

I picked up a tub and am very pleased with the scent and performance. Kudos to the staff in Santa Monica who offered an exchange if I did not care for it.

Thanks to you and Chris for sharing your thoughts on the scent.

My experience with AoS is that while the staff is not very knowledgeable, the company does offer good customer service in the stores.

Thanks for the feedback. Very interested in this one. I plan on visiting my local AoS hopefully sometime this week. I am very curious about the scent

I've been using AOS Oud off and on for the past couple of weeks, and have been enjoying it, as well as Oud Suede EdT. However, if someone is expecting it to smell like Tom Ford or Creed Oud scents, they'll be disappointed. I find it to be a warm, masculine, woody scent. I enjoy AOS creams, and find Oud and Eucalyptus a pleasant departure from the more traditional scents of Lemon, Lavender, and Sandalwood.

Useful scent description Richard, particularly the comparison to Tom Ford and Creed.

Thanks for the input Richard!  I thought a saw a jar in your SOTD photos  Biggrin

I agree that it seems like it would be a nice departure from their usual lines, and while Oud is a very particular type of scent, I look forward to seeing/smelling their interpretation of it.

I imagine the price increase will either become the new norm as they role out their new scents and look to recover some R&D dollars, or in this particular case it might be due to how expensive Oud fragrance can be.  I know AoS usually use natural essential oils for fragrance in the shaving creams, and if that remains the case with the Oud line, I am VERY surprised they kept the cost down to $30 since oud EO costs ridiculous amounts of money.  Even good oud fragrance oils are still quite expensive.

I see Ocean Kelp is now $30 (and totally worth every penny). I have to say that is one of the VERY best shave creams out there. It has a lot of ingredients that the others do not, btw. If you haven't tried it and like neroli scents, and you aren't averse to creams, this is something I think everyone needs to try.

Also, I did not realize the Eucalyptus was back. I wonder if it is now a permanent line or just here for "Spring" (Peppermint is their winter scent).

I tended to avoid AOS, except for their vintage Sandalwood soap, until I tried Ocean Kelp. I think it's an incredible cream, and it convinced me to try some of their other creams. It's probably my favorite cream, although the new Fitjar islands is trying to push it's way into that spot.

My bride gave me a tub of Ocean Kelp as a Christmas gift in December 2015.

I am a soap person, not primarily a cream person.
But I never look a gift horse in the mouth.  When one's spouse gives one a gift, one uses it conspicuously.

I was rewarded by the discovery of an excellent product.

Ocean Kelp is an outstanding cream and by far my favorite from AoS. I can see some not getting along with the scent, but I think it's pleasant. I find the performance to be a tad better than the others in the AoS line up Smile
