Hard to pick one.  But if I had to rate my top 3, they'd be:

26mm Paladin PK-47, Lee Sabini fan/bulb hybrid knot (2nd Batch): strongest individual 2-band hair I've ever used.  Tips are crunchy dry, gel-like when wet.   Perfect combination of backbone and flow through.  An absolute pleasure.

28mm Paladin Chief Select bulb knot: huge, pillow soft and very dense.  Can hold 5 passes worth of lather.  Perfect for a Sunday shave.  Decadent, pure luxury.

24 mm Declaration Washington fan knot set in Rooney Style 1 Size 2 handle: High density fan knot with resilient 2-band hair with very soft tips.  Feels much bigger than 24mm. Combination of fan shape, high density and zero glue bump gives knot a bespoke feel.  Great face latherer.  Also, the knot is perfectly balanced with the Rooney handle.

For face lathering my recent goto is a Kent-BLK4-Silver-Tip... it sat dormant for a while but has whipping some really good foam lately.

OK, all those brushes seem great, but I have experienced all of them and I can't beat a synthetic brush set deeply and that's that! Find a handle set a synthetic knot of choice and experience face lathering heaven!!!!

Mine is a Commonwealth Badger.  It's marked CW  on a black handle.  Got it off eBay for about 10 bucks.  But it does a great job.

Great idea.  Give up some specifics, what knot, diameter, loft worked for you for face lathering.  What's your favourite?  I'd like to build one to try.

Thanks!

Thanks, Dave! Bobba Fett is painted at the base of the handle. I feel really fortunate to have scored it!
