Do these ever come out on the market as LE Editions?

The last postings I can find anywhere are from around 2012 and almost any Duke that comes out other than best is Duke 3 and almost always in Manchurian.

I don't know about Duke 2's, but there may be some 2-band Duke 3's available now.  This appeared yesterday on the Simpson Facebook page.  Contact Mark at Simpson for availability.

thanks. I find the Duke 3 handle and knot too big for my tastes.

I am hoping Mark will bless the market with some Duke 2's as he has been putting out various LE models of many other brushes.

The knots of the latest Duke 3s are actually smaller than what it used to be, more like 23/48mm vs. what used to be 24/25 mm knots.
Hence, your best shot indeed seems to be the Duke 3. There is not much demand for the smaller Duke 2. However, you can always reach out to Mark and see if he will fill a custom for you. Then, there is always BST. Though I have not seen a Duke 2 in 2 Band coming up for a long time.

interesting information! The D3 best I tried had a 24mm+ knot that was just too much for my taste.

I have a relatively new 23/48 SM 2 band and am on the fence about it's size. I have tried a 21/45 SM 2 Band which I considered too small so am wondering if something in the middle and closer to a Duke 2 size knot would fit my fancy better. Especially since I love the Duke 2 handle size. Will see what the future holds!

I don't recall seeing a Duke 2 LE, but then I haven't been looking for one either.  German raises good points.  My Duke 3, from 2016, measures out to 24.50/48mm.  There isn't a huge size difference between the Duke 2 and 3.  If you really like Simpson 2-band hair, which is rare these days, you may want to compromise and consider the Duke 3 if it's the only way to get that hair in a Duke handle.  My Duke 3 is definitely smaller than what I prefer, but I have it because I like the Simpson 2-band hair.

Here's what your looking for my friend...Duke 2 2Band, labeled BEST like many others Simpson put out in 2012. Mainly I would see these on Superior shaves site and Pasteurs in NY back then. The knot on this one measures 23.6 x 46.7 (rnd from 100ths). I would try to email Mark W. , or reach him through FB or Twitter, and make a request for the Duke 2 STip you desire...otherwise I agree with other members responses to scoop a Duke 3 if more readily available...The Duke 3 is not that much bigger than the D2, and is a much smaller step in size compared to the difference btwn say a Chubby 1 vs. Chubby 2...Can't go wrong either way IMO...Good luck with your search!

I have a Duke 3 in 2-band ST from 2014. It's on the smaller side (for me, YMMV) but it performs great:

it appears my inquisitive journey has lead me to buying back my recently sold Duke 2 and swapping out the knot with the infamous SM 2 Band I enjoy tremendously. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Now I just have to decide knot. A 22 or 23 with 46 or 48.
