Hello from the NE burbs of San Antonio!
Back in Texas after 20 years in Colorado.
I have been shaving with a straight for about 30 years, but still enjoy learning about and trying new products.
Thank you for having me aboard.

Welcome to TSN! Would love to hear the story of how you got into straight shaving back in the '80s.

My Dad used to cut my hair when I was a little kid with a couple of straights: a Puma Gold brought back from Germany by his brother who was stationed there (1948) and a Soucille Paris issued to his grandfather during World War I. After playing around with electric shavers for a few years, I bought my first razor (a Henkels 60), before moving to the States in 1986 and never really looked back. My father gave me his razors the last time I went back to France to visit in 2007 and, after a well-deserved trip on the hones, they were called back to duty.
I am not really a collector, my handful of razors and brushes are tools I enjoy and respect. Wet-shaving just turns what is daily drudgery to most into a relaxing and focused ritual.
Brushes are badgers, not by snobbery, but they are what I enjoy the most.
As for soaps, I trully enjoy Le Pere Lucien's Rose de Pushkar, the now defunct B&M Fireside, as well as Mystic Water's Green Fairy, which to this day, reminds me of having a Pastis with friends on a sunny day by the old harbor. I do not care for mentholated products, fake lavender or overly complicated fragrances (like B&M Cologne Russe).
