Having just succeeded in ordering a new Wolfman, my curiosity drove me to start looking into James' work. I finally started looking more closely at his other razor, the BBS-1, and I was struck by the design.  I have never seen that alignment scheme used before.

Are there any other razors that you know of that use the corners of the blade to ensure alignment?

I have a Feather AS-D2, but I never noticed the corners before.  BUT... it appears that the AS-D2 uses the center cutouts of the blades and the corners for alignment.

If you look at the BBS-1, it lacks the alignment bars on either side of the center screw, it's relying on the corners exclusively:

I think some of the Gillette techs use the corners for alignment.

Ok, now I see your point.  That is a unique design.

Yes, someone on Reddit pointed out that at least SOME of the Techs used the same scheme.  I have not looked at the Techs as closely, this was the first time I ever encountered this scheme.

There's a Personna razor that does.

It's vintage. I'm fairly certain that it was originally sold in England.

I have one and it's a great, mild, razor.

***This isn't mine. It's clearly very much worn out and grungy. I don't have a picture of mine handy though.***

I have one of those Personna English made and it is excellent. As well there is a ROTBART Tech style with the attached bottom knob and it is exactly the same...in fact I originally thought the BBS-1 (I have #23) was quite similar except much much better (and more expensive).......

The cheap and cheerful DE I bought at TGR (aka Flying Tiger Copenhagen) uses the corners for aligning the blade:

The Feather AS and Feather Popular use small posts the hold the corners of the blade.
