Well, I am looking for a badger brush. A special person to me has his birthday next month, so I want to give him a special gift.

I have only two badgers, so I know only the basic things about them.

I'm thinking about something with 24-26mm knot, very soft tips and good backbone. Must be available as well. I'm not interested in limited runs, or brushes that I have to be to quick to purchase one.

I'd like to read your recommendations gents.

One of the best TWO band badger brush with reasonable price is Semogue Owners Club around 67 euro  ! I do have 2 Plissons  HMW Brushes and bought  Semogue brush as gift for friend and  I was surprised how soft, luxurious  and close to the Plissons was Semogue hair.

I agree, yup absolutely, he will be a good friend forever, unless you decide (you will have to use the brush to make sure there is no funk) to keep the brush for yourself. So if this is what you'll do (keep the brush) he'll have to wait until you get him another. But boy will you be enjoying your morning shaves, he'll just have to wait.

I would also recommend buying a Semogue Owner's Club brush. It is available in usually Cherry wood or Ash Wood and from what I remember reading on a couple websites like the Portuguese vendor websites was that it was specified that the origin of the badger hair they used was from areas around Europe and Asia's bordering common areas. So they may refer to it as and "Eurasian" and appears to have some two band appearances or two band characteristics like thicker hair.

The ones that I saw most recently were of very high quality. I remember many members commenting sometime last year or so and commented positively that Semogue ran into a nice run or supply of the hair that they use in the brush mentioned above. It looked of good sorting and nice shape and uniformity to the knot. The hair looked shiney and maybe it was conditioned or washed very thoroughly.

Might I suggest to first try to order from within European zone so you can save on shipping before you have to pay for shipping from USA.

Not sure where you are shipping to or how soon you need it.

Budget aside there's plenty of options readily available.

The MS or LS brush some are raving about with loads of compliments may be larger than you're after and might not arrive quick enough depending on how quickly it's needed. I just ordered a 24mm model with a barber handle. I have a suspicion that the knot is a Frank Shave. If so, and I hope it is, I expect to be thrilled with it.

If you're interested in a budget friendly option the Stirling Soap Co. brushes are very nice.

There are a lot of brush makers that can make you a brush and pretty quickly too.

I have to agree though that a Bob Quinn Manchurian is a treat that's hard to beat. He has several handle options ready made on his website and you only have to choose one and email him to set the knot type you want. His Manchurian knots are not in the drop down menu for the brush handle. Elite Razor is the website.

Best of luck picking one out. Whatever you decide to choose. Lots of good suggestions here.

Shavemac 2-band or Thater 4125 series, Saponificio Varesino, Bob Quinn Manchurian White -- all these options get high marks here

If you want it to be truly special, Bernd at Shavemac will do a custom where you can get the handle engraved with his name or something personal like that.

I'd probably go with a custom Shavemac with an engraved handle. It's a European brand and I won't have to deal with customs for one more time.

Thank you all for the recommendations!
