Good morning TSN!

Need your help again on the subject please.

Been wet shaving for almost an year now. Have acquired a reasonable amount of software to last me a decade or so. But on the hardware side, I have been little conservative.

I have 5 options on the razor side that I am currently using.
1. Oneblade
2. Merkur Progress
3. Art of shaving Gillette Fusion
4. Truefitt and Hill faux ivory Gillette Fusion
5. Parker Shavette

I am getting a hang of my Shavette slowly. But use OB and MP frequently. On MP, I love Kai /Feather at a setting of 3. Terms OC, CB need to be explained in short too please.

I know of three highly recommended names BBS -1, Timeless and Wolfman. Option 1&3 are not under consideration since the products are not available online. That leaves me with option 2(Timeless). Where is the fun in selecting from the list of 3 when 2 are not even in the race....

What would you recommend if you were in my place? Any other contenders worthy of consideration?

Please let your suggestions roll.

I highly recommend the Rockwell 6s, Jagdeep. It's an amazing razor. It shaves me smoothly and I'm extremely satisfied. You won't be disappointed. It's a stainless steel razor, made in the US and at this price, it's a steal.

Nikos I was going through the reviews and find them in line with your recommendations.

I would like to hear more options but this one has got me thinking already...

I also strongly recommend the Rockwell 6S. It is my go to razor and I have many. No matter what blade or shave soap/cream I use, excellent results are to be had with no blood spilled.  Timeless is also an excellent choice.  I have a Timeless razor, and frankly, I stare at it more than use it, although it does shave great when I do use it.   I think the reason I love the Rockwell so much is that it just feels right in my hand and on my face and is more of a working tool than a pretty looking razor.

Thanks Ken. It helps to have more votes from experienced users. I am already contemplating about having one.

I hear about 6C and some model "T" thing also coming up. Is it worth the wait?

Based on my excellent experience with the Rockwell 6S, I pre-ordered the 6C and the model T as well.   The 6C is supposed to shave just as well as the 6S and has nice shiny chrome plating.  The model T will be the first adjustable TTO made in quite some time as far as I know so I am curious on that one, but it is an unknown at this point.   PS--I find plate 4 works really well on the 6S and I have a coarse beard.

I know you noted that this wasn't an option, but don't give up on the Wolfman, it took me almost a year of trying but it is truly worth the wait. I have the SB in standard and the shave performance is amazing. No stubble till early evening, very smooth and looks amazing on the bathroom counter.

I would also add a BlackBird SB (standard safety bar). In my den it is one of the most efficient razors.

+1 for the Rockwell. I also think that the Progress is a fantastic razor and you could just keep using without a need to add.
Hate to recommend the LA BBS-1 because it's basically impossible to acquire but if one ever comes up jump on it.
Have you thought about the Asylum Evolution?

In addition, I also recommend PILS if weight is not an issue.

Merkur Progress is a flexible razor - nice quality shaves and you can adjust from mild to wild in terms of relative aggressiveness.

Feather AS-D2 if you like a mild razor. I absolutely love the shave of this one, so smooth.

Above The Tie is another option that hasn't been mentioned. They've been out a while so they dint get much hype anymore, but they're still great razors.

I would highly recommend the Blackbird too, it's a great razor, Timeless is a great choice too! both offer 30 days money back so if you can buy both keep the winner.

Thanks for the inputs Gents. Merkur Progress, no doubt is a fine razor but I made a mistake of getting the short handle on it.

Moreover, aesthetically I would not term it as a marvel but does a fine job. I am now looking at something with longer handle, aesthetically designed which does the job right.

Votes from fellow members are pointing towards Rockwell 6s but I am contemplating others too....

Jag, if you want to test drive a Progress or Digress (longer handle due to the turn knob), let me know by PM.  Happy to loan it to you as I have all 3 versions.
