I just discovered a rumor circulating that AOS has a new current reformulation, replacing the most recent reformulation that replaced the tallow formula. Is there any truth to this? The new formula is supposedly a much improved formula. This would be good news, if there is any truth to it.

I hope so, but I can't confirm.  I haven't seen this anywhere, where did you see this information?

I have to admit I have found the current formulation not to be anywhere near as bad as it has been claimed to be, at least for my skin. I would definitely welcome a new formulation though, particularly if it was tallow based.

I have been using the "original" reformulation in sandalwood and have found performance to be decent, if not as good as the tallow version.  scent is a bit cleaner without the clay note

I agree there's nothing wrong with the current formulation, but the old one was better (and you can get it on the auction sites for less than AoS sells theirs). If you like the current one, you should try the tallow if you haven't already.

Yes, I agree with you on all counts. No sense purchasing the new formula when you can get the older and better formula for less. I was just simply pointing out that the new formula is no slouch in terms of performance.

Don't forget about the current production soaps that are the basis of the original tallow formula AOS and others - Valobra and all of it's derivatives.  Great soap.
