So, who uses moisturizer?

I had never thought of using one before, but read about here, and decided to give it a try. I have dry skin in the winter due to the terrible cold weather we usually have.

It worked. I use Vichy or Biotherm after shaving in the morning, and then one of their thicker creams at night before bed. No more dry skin! Geez, I'm a slow learner. I wish I had thought of this a quarter century (or so) ago.

Don't know if I'll keep using it during the summer or not. If you're a user, do you do it all year round, or just in the winter?

For me, moisterizer is not a seasonal thing. Shaving daily strips the face of natural oil. A good moisterizer replaces that oil as well as leaving a smooth, fresh appearance.

I've recently started using Cremo Moisterizer. One application in the morning lasts an entire day.

I have oily skin and live in tropical weather, so I don't need a moisturizer.

I use cremo moisturizer with SPF after I shave. It's a thin lotion and it doesn't feel heavy on my skin. I use shea butter at night.

I use a facial moisturizer by Clinique every morning after showering. When I am lucky enough to have time to shave, I use an aftershave balm on the shaved parts of my face.
It will help long-term to keep your skin healthy.

I go el-cheapo on this one, and, use Suave.  My wife -- May She Rest In Peace, And, May Light Perpetual Shine Upon Her -- swore by it, and, I have used it since we first started dating.  I use the Advanced Therapy formulation.  Although, in a pinch, if the store is out, I use the soothing formula, with aloe vera.  This works as well as Clinique, which is apparently expensive.

I use it, all over my body.  I use it on  my back by putting a little bit on the back scratcher, and, then using the backscratcher to apply the lotion.  I use it like I am scratching my back.  It is perfect.

I have found two  things, when it comes to moisturizers:  one, I am allergic to most of them, and, two, of the ones which are safe, are pretty much all alike.  So, I go with the best value.

I use this from my hair -- as a form of protection against the blow-dryer, and, as a leave-in conditioner -- down to my feet, and, everywhere in between.  I use it, thusly, thrice daily.

I also use it on my lips, as part of my oral hygiene routine.

I use a regular moisturizer, a wrinkle cream and an eye cream after my shave - preferably from 4 brands, Clinique, Vichy, Osmium & Helena Rubinstein.

Few years back when Indian rupee was lot stronger wrt USD,I used to import a Canadian brand 4voo. Good quality ingredients and very uber feel. I don't find it viable now to buy the stuff.

Now, use only my aftershave balms ADP, SMN etc.

No moisturizers, no balms for me; all that goes on my face is a good alcohol-based aftershave splash and it's even better if it has a touch of menthol.

My physician sent me to a dermatologist who advised me to use a moisturizer with SPF every day without fail. Best to have a physical sunblock (such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) rather than a chemical sunblock. The SolBar line works well. Also Neutrogena makes one with titanium dioxide.

I'll let everybody in on a little secret: shaving soaps and creams suck for your skin. That said, I use one every day.  Biggrin If you've got skin that can handle it, good on ya, but mine can't. The problem is twofold. First, soap (and cream, which is soap-based) binds to fats and oils. Which means it strips your face of oils. Second, it's got a pH usually between 9 and 10 or something like that, and that's pretty basic. Skin pH is on the acidic side ideally, around 5.5.

So for me, it's basically forget about stuff that only makes it worse, like alcohol-based aftershaves. Even some balms don't cut it. I use a good moisturizer -- the brand doesn't matter so much, you'll find your own -- and a toner that restores the skin's pH.

It works for me.
