I am new here and just trying to make my way around and figure things out as I go. I live on the shore in New Jersey. I get up early and that gives me and advantage over the west coast guys because I see things on eBay earlier than most. I'm on eBay just about every day trying to see what new items are available and what razors I'm interested in are selling for. I shave with double edge and single edge razors. My go to DE right now is a Wolfman Dual Comb (Got it for a little over $200 direct a long time ago I'm happy to say). My SE I love is a Schick Adjustable Injector. Both of these razors are great because they work well for me and have small heads that let me easily maneuver in tight spaces like under my nose. My favorite DE blade is the Kai but they are too expensive for daily use so for me a good substitute is the Lord Platinum from Egypt. I currently have about 300 of them - stocked up for the shavepocalypse. I am also well stocked on the SE blades. I knew a guy who got a ton of them for me - I believe they are for sale only on a military exchange. They were much cheaper than the Chinese Schicks at the time and work great. I believe they are platinum coated specially made for the US Military by ASR.  As far as razors I like to collect, mostly they are Gillettes from 1950 and newer. I really like the Gillette adjustable razors and have a nice collection of those. I do have a nice 1904 Double Ring set but mostly I am clueless of razors before 1950. I like certain modern razors to. I have a blue Lapis Eskimo adjustible that I am partial too. I is a customized Merkur Progress for those that don't know it. My favorite Gillette adjustable to use is a Super-84. My favorite rare Gillette Adjustable to use is a Red Dot Fatboy. Well that's about it for now. If you are still reading, my hat is off to you. Boring stuff except to other razor geeks like me. Smile

I'd have to agree...that razor is amazing!  Do you know anything about its production volume (not too high if I recall)?

Welcome, and  be warned, you think you have it  covered with that wonderful collection  but I see not one straight blade listed.

Behold for whom the bell tolls ...

I wish I knew the Techmatic had any appeal,  must a give a dozen or so to the goodwill so I could get my used 45 dollar straight razor.

BTW should the  shavepocalypse happen you may want to be as hairy as possible, gives the zombies gas. Just saying.

No I don't know how many were produced. It is more scarce than the Bottom Dials that is for sure (1-5 or 1-9).  If seeing razors on eBay is any gauge of how many Gillette made.

Yes I am continually faked out by Techmatics on eBay, but one day there might be a needle in the hay stack. Also, thanks for the tip about zombie gas... go to know Wink

Welcome to TSN. We look forward to you sharing your knowledge.  By the way, I have tried about 35 DE blades over the years and the Lord Platinum is one of the best for me.
