Hello Gents

I've been using Muhle brush for about three weeks, so it's pretty new. Few days ago I noticed there is some glue (epoxide?) on the base of the knot when knot meets handle. The bristles in these places are stiff and there is a glue between them. Moreover, it has an influence on the shape of the whole loft. Brush blooms more in places where is no glue, and less when it is. It isn't big difference, but I wonder if this causes uneven splay of the bristles when pushing on the face. This class of brush shouldn't have any defects so I would like to contact to vendor and ask for send me a new brush. Sorry for my english and thanks for all respones!

Even though it's not a big deal, it shouldn't be like that. I can clearly see that the shape of the knot is uneven. Is the glue hard very it touches bristles? I don't think if it's worth the hassle of exchange, maybe try to clean it and see if it comes off?

What do you mean? Sorry, my english isn't perfect.

I tried with vinegar solution but didn't come off. I rode that epoxide glue (if it's what is on my brush) is very hard to wash off.

Hi piet

Personally I would first contact the vendor and explain the situation (before attempting to "repair" the brush), then decide what to do next based on their response.

In my eyes, mind, that brush is faulty, therefore should be replaced by the vendor (or manufacturer)...

Good luck Smile

Take care, Mike

Glue shouldn't be there. Agreed with Teiste, as usual.

Muhle is renowned for their customer service and I know for sure they stand behind their products.

This one seems off spec, with the glue and the knot shape.

I suggest contacting the vendor and ask for a replacement as other members have suggested indeed!
