Sir, no offense, but the pic gives me that Tribal vibe...How is the performance otherwise?

No offense taken. The brush knot is absolutely wonderful. It creates great lather, releases it easily upon the face. The brush is full and soft, it immediately became one of my top 5 brushes.

Wow! Top 5. I read about the brush here and there after your post and found the information interesting. Hand made in Italy. Those patterns on the handle, they look damn fine...

What's the loft on it?  Are you able to set the loft when you order it?  All of the PantaRei brushes I've seen have a low loft.

Here's a pic of my year-old PantaRei....30mm knot and about 49mm loft.  I love the brush and agree with Doc47 on the characteristics.  I used
to use the brush more often, but I am now concerned about a couple of hairline cracks which have developed (see pic) - the little chips around
the rim really don't bother me and these were caused by the brush against the lather bowl (when I do use, it's now used for face lathering).  Again, a very nice knot to truly enjoy.  I don't believe that the handle would hold up if it were dropped.  Should it become more of an issue I will either return for replacement or have the knot placed in another handle.

I have a vintage Rooney with a ceramic handle and the fragile nature always kept me from using it or re-knotting.  But I do like the designs of the Panta Rei!

Sorry to see that Brad.  I suppose the lesson is don't bowl lather with a PantaRei, and be extremely careful with it when face lathering.  They are beautiful and unique pieces.

The knot is 30mm with 48mm loft. Bowl lathering in a shallow bowl works just fine.

Hi guys!
I'm Alex... PantaRei Smile

I just seen the BRAD handle problem.

I the first part of my production, I had a problem with a too "carbonated" glue and only a little % of handles give hairlines/haircracks.

I always required the handle to me and TOTALLLY free I always re-made the handle, replacing the handle at my expenses...

So, BRAD my friend, I remember you in FB ... pls contact me and send me back the brush, I'll re-make for you totally free.

Tnx Guys for your attention!

Alessandro.
