I just received this razor today from Joe @ shaveabuck. Its the new line of razors Joe is offering and are made in India.
This is the 3 piece open comb razor in flawless finished chrome. It has a 4" thin handle with very nice knurling for a good grip. I noticed the stem is very long at about 1" which is kind of unusual but the head and handle tighten securely.
The blade did not align perfectly when I assembled the head to the handle so I had to loosen it a bit and re-align it by hand which was extremely easy.

The shave:
I did only one pass since I already shaved this morning. Very nice and smooth. On a scale of 1-10 for aggression I rate this razor a > 5 but not like the R41 razor not even close so don't worry it won't bite you.

Conclusion:
For well under $30 with shipping this razor is a steal. I must thank Joe for offering this new razor line. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Note: The razor comes in a very nice plastic case which fits into a box.

Thanks for the review Jerry.

I am ordering one myself along with a few of his new open comb heads. The comb looks very FaTip like, while the top cap reminds more of an EJ.

Very hard to go wrong for the price, and from my own experience, I know that Joe always strives to bring in excellent products for a good price.

That was a very nice review,Jerry. Thanks a lot.
Would you compare it with a fatip (aggressiveness,I mean)?

I have done two more days of three pass shaves (switched to an Astra Superior blade) and conclude it shaves as good or better then the Fatip. The head looks almost identical. Very close and smooth but remember its an open comb. I thought the pencil thin handle would be a negative but its totally the opposite (for me). What a nice razor at a bargain price. Joe did goodBiggrin

do you find the Cadet OC to be smoother feeling than the FaTip OC?

I do but not until I switched blades from a 5 day used Gillette Super Thin to an Astra Superior. Also not to take anything away from the Fatip but the Cadet has more weight and doesn't feel hollow when you shave like the Fatip. The heads are identical (or close to it).

I have been lazy and need to get off my butt and place an order. But before I do, I would like to shoot Joe a message and see if I order the Cadet Shaving Converter Head if that is the complete head of top cop and base plate, or if it is just the comb.

I need to order two, so I can give one to my brother Ken, as he is not in a position to be buying anything as he is still unemployed.

Thanks for the review Jerry, glad to see that you judge a razor by it's performance, not it's country of origin.

The converter head is complete. Only will fit Cadet razors as far as I know and advertise. It does have a long threaded shaft so beware.

My best wishes to your brother.

I tried fitting the head to my Fatip handle and it would NOT fit. The Fatip handle threads are too small. Maybe the Cadet head will fit a Merkur, Muehle or Jagger handle?

I have to use a ton of Teflon tape to get my FaTip fit my iKon handle. I just like to mix things up. Switching handles is fun, but wont we a game killer for me.

Joe is offering enough variety in the Cadet line that I am sure I can find a nice head/ handle combo if I send up not like the thin handle.

For purposes of documentation, compatibility and enabling, gents. To say that Cadet screw protrudes 11.4 mm from the comb, and fits well in UFO handles, which supported from 14 mm of U1 to 18 mm of U2 and Godzilla.

I might also add that the head also fits on the Weber Wave handle. I can provide pics when I get home.
