Hello. I have this safety razor from Edwin Jagger. I have it for 2 and a half years now. I have noticed that on the middle screw of the cap I have some white residue and some rust. Maybe the residue is from hard water. I leave the razor and the brush on a stand in the bathroom. Maybe this has something to do with it. I also clean it with a toothbrush and liquid detergent. Any advice on how ot get rid of the white stuff and rust?

The white residue could be from hard water, but it could also be oxidation material from the chrome plating and/or soap residue.

A stiff toothbrush should help loosen most of the rust and residue, failing that a soft copper wirebrush can do the trick at the risk of marring the chrome surface.
