I was tending to some household shopping at Target today, a rarity for me, and for kicks I decided to see what was in the shaving section. As surmised from the title, it was a Cremo Vie-long horse hair shaving brush. The brown variety, of which I am particularly fond of from my Epsilon version I have of this type of hair. It made my day seeing a brand of brush that I readily know, and despite my thoughts of not getting it, I caved. I felt like I should give some support to both Cremo and Target for stocking these. 21.99 was the cost at my Target I went to, but it might be less elsewhere. I would guess it is about a 21mm knot with a 50-52mm loft. Not a giant brush by any means, but just enough right dimensions to whip up a good lather. I saw but a fleeting mention of this in another post with no picture, but I'll include a picture of the brush and packaging. Forgive the lighting and location. I just had a 12 hour trip for a doctor appointment and too exhausted to make it look nicer. I've used several of Vie-long's brushes, and they are all good. The great thing here is you can see it and feel it in person before deciding if it's for you!

I think I will pick one up because I never tried horse hair, love Cremo, want to support the wet shaving products in the mainstream box stores, and it is smaller then my other brushes and would be better to travel with.  I did not buy it when I first saw it, but I did not notice an odor either, which is nice.  Maybe once it gets wet it will be a different story.

What part of the world are you in? I wouldn't hesitate to pick one of these up if they had them in my local Target. I've always wanted to try a horsehair brush.

Never mind - the Internet told me that they have those in stock in most of the stores around me. Looks like I'll be stopping in sometime.

I used mine this morning. I wish it were bigger, but I enjoyed using it.

Cremo has come a long way.  I remember when their only product was the original Cremo Cream in the white tube with the red top.  Back then there were no major retailers carrying it.

According to sources online it's the same brush as the 12601, which giftandcare.com lists as 35/65 mane/tail.

The Valhalla was my first big boy amp after the obligatory fiio sets.

Now I'm all a balanced. Looking to upgrade my dac to a yggdrasil eventually. That's the last major piece in the chain to replace my aging nuwave.

I reset this in a tad wider handle and it wwnt from just OK to a really enjoyable brush. I wouldn't buy it just for that purpose, but if you already have one, I'm really glad I did this!
