Wish I could afford both but my fiancee would kill me if I got both. I just picked up a sapphire CH2 recently but I sent a PM for the CH3.

Per forum rules pricing must be at or below retail. [Image: 195a4cb4ea471689521add5e2f5f55e7.jpg]

IF you find the prices unfair (Selling for what I paid) and this post gets removed, you will find these brushes available on ebay.

I'm just letting members know that they are cheaper directly from Simpson. $348 with shipping to be exact for the chubby 3.

Your prices violate the rules of the forum by no following retail pricing. If you want more than retail they should go to ebay. I may have paid $400 for a Wolfman but I can't list here for that due to the rules. How is this any different?

Not sure how his price violates the rules IF AT THE TIME HE PURCHASED THE BRUSHES FROM SIMPSONS, THE EXCHANGE RATE WAS DIFFERENT THAN IT IS NOW (ie a Chubby 3 today from Simpsons cost $345 and in 2015 the same brush from Simpsons cost $405).....he shouldn't be penalized nor criticized for selling the brushes at the same price he paid to the manufacturer. If as you say the brushes now sell for less then I'm sure Jay will have a difficult time making the sale.

This is clearly a result of our Brexit and the subsequent lower exchange rate for the pound.  In 2015, the CH2 brush would have cost around $390. At today's exchange rate, £255 is approximately $320.

It's different in that you paid secondary market price which is higher than retail by choice. Jay paid retail by buying directly from vendor. While it's unfair for him, the exchange rate has changed from the time he bought, I also see your point that itt doesn't make sense to list for higher than "CURRENT" retail. However, I can't see it be a violation of BST rules!

I think the spirit of the BST is what's important here - selling to members should not be a profitable exchange, regardless of what cycles retail pricing may have gone through over time.  I think this approach is always best.

Best of luck to Jay and safe trading, Gents.

This is really an interesting sale and an interesting thread.  I'm enjoying the nuances of the seller/buyer relationship on this fine, gentlemanly forum and site owners desire to keep thing on the up and up.

If I'm not mistaken the rule says, "...how much the item costs new...".  Considering exchange rates, it can cut both ways depending when it was purchased.  But the 'new' price needs to be included I assume if the item is still available, as it is, and regardless of what you paid for it.  I completely agree with this as I'm sure we all do, this is called honesty, it's what gentlemen do.

akbker23 didn't included a 'new' price, clearly because it works against his sale.  Due to exchange rate akbkr23's knows his brushes are a pig in a poke.  Since he is firm he will likely keep both brushes, but the rules are violated nonetheless as no new price is listed.

So in the case of a Wolfman purchased over retail, it should be advertised with current retail price and then asking price according to the rules.  There's no stipulation that says the seller can't indicate what was paid for the item if over retail, presumed to be because of rarity.  The issue is can he ask more than new.  According to the rule, NO regardless of perceived rarity the rules say he must ask less than new retail.

How do you get a round that?  I don't know.  Maybe ask one cent less than retail, indicate what you paid for it because no new ones are available, then stipulate in bold letters OR BEST OFFER!   I suppose the rules are adhered to, and the implication is if you want to own this you need to open up you wallet, or go find a new one!

I like simple rules.  I'm sure there's an attorney here that can chime in and clean things up.  But in the real world it's impossible to make rules to cover every situation, even DC can't do it with an army of Haavaad lawyers.
