Recently aquired this as I wanted to add a Kamisori to my very small den, I know nothing of the maker but it's supposed to be a NOS Tosuke, so can any of you fine Gents offer any insight on the maker, my searches don't come up with much, also want to take a minute to thank Jamie M. for his insight into taking care of these types of razors, i am familar with western straights but these are totally new to me.

I'm sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with that razor maker. I'm sure that Jamie gave you excellent advice on their care. I have a half dozen Kamisori razors, and have used the two videos on honing Kamisori by gssixgun with excellent results, in case you're interested. Enjoy your new razor.

Jamie so is this the name of the person or company that made it, I had contact with another Gent that advised the following:
Quote:Hi William,
if I am not wrong the first kanji is
家 and has the following meanings :
expert;
family;
home;
house;
performer;
professional;
the first and last seem to be most appropriate given the tool
The second kanji is
王 : king, ruler
Bot together are translated as: Royal family.
Hope this helps some.

Well my razor got here yesterday from Sweden and the edge is killer sharp on the HHT, bevel looks right to me so it's going to be on for todays shave, i know alot of traditionlist's use it with the stamped side out but I am thinking that may not be good for me, i will try it but I am guessing cordination wise it's not going to work out to well.
The pics in the OP were from the seller and to be honest it looks better in person and the pics attached are the ones I just took, i want to thank all in helping ID this razor and even though it's not a Tosuke, I believe after several chimed in it's a Jyuou kamisori and no matter it's very very nice and will fit well into my rotation.
