The Chubby 2 is my favorite synthetic. I say that after more than 300 shaves with it since it first came out around March 2014, as well as trying numerous other synthetics. I understand that reasonable minds can differ on the merits of this brush. Some people just don't care for synthetics in general, while others have an issue with the low loft of the Chubby 2. I don't mean for this thread to turn into a debate on the Chubby 2 synthetic, as that has been covered thoroughly. My point here is to illustrate the nice handle on my new Chubby 2 synthetic.
Simpson recently offered the Chubby 2 synthetic in tortoise, and I took the opportunity to add this handle color to my ivory and butterscotch versions. The knot has a diameter of 28.50mm+ and a loft of 53mm+.
I took pictures of the brush right out of the box, from four sides, to illustrate the changing hues on the tortoise. Now what I want next is one in briar.

I've had that same thing on my mind. The synthetic bristles are getting to look even more like badger brushes on the Simpson brushes I've seen of late. That's a beautiful Chubby 2 in Tortoise as well. I just recently picked up a 386 in Tortoise and it's a beauty to just sit back and gaze at the handle as one slowly turns it round and round...

I wrote about this on another thread but these synthetic knots are really nice. They feel more like badger to me. Maybe its the density of the knot that makes the difference? Anyway, Ricardo that's a nice brush. I think I might order the butterscotch one today. I know this is purely for aesthetics, but I wonder if Simpson's could make a synthetic that appears to be two-band? The two-band combined with butterscotch is my favorite look.
