just bought this very brush from bst and used it yesterday.  i have a ch1 super and ch2s in manchurian.  now, this thing replaced a grail ch3 i let go a couple years ago. big mistake. (place big tear here!)  i found out why this brush is so cool.  a dense beast that loads like a catapillar tractor.  doesn't release lather quite as well as some of my other brushes but who cares.  the size is too damn big for daily use but i don't care. my face loves the perfect scritch and no other brush i have stays as warm throughout the shave.  i could live with a ch 2 super and be happy having a ch3 super makes me ecstatic.  cleaning it is a chore but again expected.   it just looks superior on the shelf like it owns the den

Thank you - there are times when I Think the handle is too fat and then other times I think it's just perfect

I have a recent Chubby 2 in Super (below) and it is the perfect brush with soft tips, great density and limited splay. I used to have a Chubby 3 in 2 Band and the handle was just too big for my liking. But YMMV.

To be honest - I love the chubby 2 knot - the handle forms is the problem

Thanks

I received my Chubby 3 Super on Friday and used it on Saturday. It's a gorgeous brush but a bit big for my hands. Everything I read about it in terms of quality and density was spot on. I was probably not using enough product as I could not create a good lathe, so....if I decide to continue using it there are two things I'll keep in mind: 1) Re-calibrate the mind and use tons of product and 2) Have enough time to truly enjoy what I believe should be a royal shave.

I found the chubby 3 too much of a good thing. Sold it and bought a chubby 2 which is perfect for my personal tastes. YMMV.

If only they made a Chubby 3 handle with a Chubby 2 knot in it, it would be ideal for me.

Chubby 2 handle far too small.

Chubby 2 knot almost perfect.

Chubby 3 handle almost perfect, though could be a bit longer.

Chubby 3 Super 3-band knot is just a bit too large for my preference.
The Manchurian Ch3 is much better size wise, but not feel wise IMHO.

I think a Chubby 3 knot should be a perfect bulb for it to really shine, like the CH3 2-Band knot, which almost is perfect.

YMMV

Really like the brush and have used it a couple of times with mixed results. Love everything about it, even size but just cannot get the lather right. Still pushing through. I see it like being scared to by a sports car because you find it hard to drive a stick. Something's you just have to learn to do if you want to enjoy it. Keeping my chubby 3 if only because I've always wanted one. Would it be my only. No but one of a few in rotation. Yep!

This is mine. I've used it twice and believe it will take many more uses before it even begins to break in. This is large brush with a very dense knot and a stiff backbone, it will not break in quickly so be patient if you can.

Far too dense and brick-like for my liking, but that's the story for all three Chubbies, regardless of the grade of badger.  I prefer to lather with a brush and not a brick.  Many people love the Chubbies, however.
