I'm currently considering purchasing a puck of the above mentioned soap. I've only heard a few snatches here and there about it. I can pick one up for under 15 bucks so it won't really break the bank but I've told myself I won't make anymore soap or cream purchases until I've whittled down what I have, unless the consensus here is that whatever it is is a must try. Does anyone here have any experience with it and if so what do you think of it?

This is, without question, a must-try soap.

Yes , one of the best sandalwood scented soap in the market. You should try it. And it's best for summer days

I'm gonna flip this question on its head - I defy anyone to come in here and honestly say they DON'T like the AoS tallow sandalwood.

I'll add my endorsement as well. And I'll buy it from you if you get it and don't like it. I don't mind having another in my inventory.

Although they're readily available now, I wouldn't hesitate to grab one before they disappear forever, they do keep well if you're not ready to add it to your rotation.  I have 2 Sandalwood & 2 unscented alternately pressed together in my Ceramic Spice mortar Bowl... one of the best discontinued tallow soaps, though I've never tried the highly touted Yardley.

Well - Czech and speake soups are made the same way. They have a more sophisticated scent.

I am in agreement with the sentiment, if you cannot find art of shaving tallow soap-don't worry- Czech and speaker is here

Yes. The new stuff is okay, but it pales in comparison to the old tallow one.

I honestly don't like the AoS tallow soap. I bought a puck from Ebay and thought it was ok. It wasn't a bad performer but it wasn't amazing either. For the price it is a good deal considering it's triple milled. Ymmv of course

Well, it just arrived in the mail. Came without a box but in a nifty little gift bag. It has a very nice sandalwood scent and it fits almost perfectly in one of my old C&E Mysore Sandalwood  wooden bowls. All the omens line up to predict a great shave. Tune in manana for a channel Mouser news update
P.S. I like the scent so much I may get the Fine Santal aftershave thats their rendition of it. They've done a great job on their others.

Congrats, it’s a great soap.
Seems not only has P&G altered the soap base, but the scent too. The SW version you have smells more natural, to me.

I had to come back and give my two cents worth after using this multiple times. I wish the fragrance was a little stronger but performance-wise this stuff is amazing.  I'm going to need to alternate this with my old Yardleys but there's no doubt this is easily among the soaps in second place behind it and maybe in second by itself. This lather.....you judge it by creating and holding peaks? Check. You judge it by slickness? Check. You judge by post shave feel? Well, maybe not as big a check as MWF,but a check.
I'm definitely picking up more of this. In another flavor if available but either way.

About the only complaint you hear is that the scents have faded over time. I bought the 3-pucks but TBH I'd probably just do C&S though the 3-pucks are an excellent buy.

Cheers, Steve

Protection and comfort are also flawless.

Great stuff - I have some laid by, and at the present price of 3 for $31? shipped a bargain.  I enjoy both flavors of the C&S as well, but those pucks retail for more than 3 of the tallow AoS.
