The next one will be Stainless Steel... They stopped making the aluminum version when the brass came out so it will be the same moving forward it seems.

They lowered the price of the brass General. I guess the sales are slowing down.

For anyone on the fence, I'd recommend getting one on sale (or even otherwise).  It's a very nice shaver!

For anyone on the fence about the Brass General, take a look at the Colonial Razors website for an even bigger price reduction.

Wow, that is a deal. $59.99 from $99.99. Makes me tempted to buy a back-up.

Yeah. Right now it's my favorite razor. I could keep my brass General and my ATT SE and sell all the others and I would still be happy.

Ron, you could buy another one and pair the head with a nice brass handle.  Some of the pictures earlier in this thread show how sharp the General head looks with a good brass handle.

You're late to the party. See post #25.

What credit card did you use? Many have a price protection guarantee these days.

Great shave with the BG. Finally came to the conclusion after about 20-25 shaves that paired with a Feather Super the results are fantastic. Though it's the blade that gives me the least amount of longevity. The smoothness and efficiency are first class. The Schick Proline & Feather Pro are right behind, neck and neck. The Super just works especially well in the mild feeling BG. Gives it just a touch more blade feel and feedback. Just a great pairing.

I never tried the Feather Super Pro in the General but I tried it in the ATT SE1 and I found it to be a little too aggressive for me. I don't have a heavy beard.

I just don't like the deep head on this razor. A slimmer head RX or Cobra Classic seems to me to be a more efficient choice.

I do also have a bit of an issue with the bulky head, although it doesn't seem to affect the shave. I like the El-Jefe head configuration more, also the El is more efficient allowing me to use the P-30 blade I love. On the General (I have the alu, brass and SS versions) I use the super pro the get the same results.
A great shaver though. Among the three I own I do prefer the brass for the extra heft and use it with a brass Taipan Stork handle which looks way better than the original.

The original handle on the brass General is way too plain for me. All they did was take some rod stock and trim the ends off. Looks cheap to me. I picked up a custom handle off eBay. I like it much more.
