How into their hair are the men here? I am quite into mine.
I use Pantene Pro-V Classic Clean Shampoo, &, Conditioner. I lather, rinse, repeat, several times, per shower. Then, upon completing the shower, I, gently, towel dry the hair. Then, I use Vasaline Skin lotion, in my hair, and, on my scalp. This prevents dandruff, and, does wonders for the hair. It is, basically, a leave-in conditioner.
I then use Garnier Fructis Hair Serum, Pantene Pro-V Volume Mousse, and, Pantene Pro-V Volume Gel. Next, I blow-dry my hair.
Then, I brush, comb, and, pick my hair.
I then go about the rest of my routine. Once I am dressed, at least, in undergarments, I add some Axe Classic Cream, or, whatever it is called, use a styling brush, and, a rake comb, to finish.
This leaves my hair soft, and, natural looking, all day.

Does it not leave it greasy?
No, not a bit. Now, I must clarify, I am speaking of the Vasaline brand-name skin lotion, and, not the petrolatum. Just any moisturising skin lotion should do the trick. But, no, there is no greasiness. In fact, my hair is dry again, by the time I am finished combing it.
Also, I have discontinued use of the Fructis Serum. It did nothing except add weight.

I suppose I would be more into hair if mine wasn't such a pain in the butt. Cowlicks suck. My skin also sucks, so I have to avoid most commercial shampoos.
My products:
Shannon's Soaps shampoo bar, with an occasional baking soda rinse
American Crew Fiber
Consort non-aerosol hair spray

Mike --
I have a TON of allergies/contact sensitivities. I have two rules for products: They must be bright white in colour, and, must cause no irritation/reaction. I have, in the past, used several shampoo bars, etc. I found them to be gimmicky, at best, and, quite painful, at worst.
If I could find a good shampoo/conditioner/body bar, I would use that as sink soap, and, wash up -- including the hair -- during the day.

Wow, that sounds like you completely strip your hair of any natural goodness, then add a load of artificial gloop to it... how does your hair feel if you just wash it and don't put any products in?
