Wow, super cool! So, the razor currently shows a back-order of 2 weeks, but an expected ship date of June 12th. Of course, no reasonable person would hold that as an iron-clad promise, but generally speaking, do you expect them to ship closer to May or June? Thanks for all your hard work!

EDIT: Corrected expected ship date

Hello, Thanks for asking. The machine shop gave us a date, We gave it a touch of padding but we do expect to meet this time line.
Prototypes have already been produced so production ability is not a problem.

Thread title is somewhat misleading..
This razor is not really 'NOW available'.

Yeah.
Preorder is not my thing.

Thanks for making the head available without a handle Stan. I love the look of the thing. The way you brought the handle closer to the cutting edge is nice.

I believe many will enjoy this new razor. Those from the DE world will have to adjust their technique a bit. The head needs to be much flatter against your face when you use it. ShaveBusta put a good video up this morning explaining this technique with the Atlas G1. The link is below;

Some of the youtube reviews mentioned that some tweaking was going to be done and curious is this going to happen before the June12th date or a revision down the road?

Very good point Guy.

Any and all tweaks will be incorporated in to the razor before and shipping occurs.

Hello,

I shaved with G1 last night and got a great shave. There is no production problems I was just doing a few refinements. It would have been going out sooner but I wanted to make sure it was "right". This is the first time I have worked with the Gem blade format. It does have its on unique properties to work with. After showing it at The Big Shave West 3 in Pasadena last month. I had the chance to watch other guys handle it and I could see some areas of improvement. Those minor changes has been incorporated and will be in the razor you receive. The last change was altering the slope of the cap. We are basically done with any additional tweaks and will likely give the approval for active production tomorrow.
Sorry for being so OCD about it but for some reason this has proven to be the most difficult razor design. I just want it to be a razor you will love.

Thanks, Stan for the update. Looking forward. Any approximate idea how sooner this will be on out of your door?

I gave the go ahead this morning for production. I will get a new date and and post it here soon.
The G1 is a smoother shaver than my EverReady and one of my testers who uses five different "Gem" razors gave very good feed back after using that G1 a number of times. He says the G1 is his favorite razor of this type. As expected this razor requires a step angle while shaving but the smaller profile head improves maneuverability especially under the nose. The cap now is thinner less rounded. It will still have its signature scalloped design. That is enough of my rambling. All speed ahead with the machine shop. Again I appreciate everyones patience while I reworked some details.
