New to the forums but thought I would throw some hot opinions out there. Now I'm not a big fan of preshaves, but if I'm going to wash my face in the shower anyhow, what can it hurt using a preshave soap. I've been using musgo real limes glycerine soap for years. Not everyday but when I have some growth I usually wash my face and soften up the whiskers all at once. Now does it help? I have no idea. Really preshaves have always been kinda like snake oil to me. If you get any benefit from it, it's worth the money. I just like the smell and like to thing it helps a shave out to.

Best thing about my new wet shaving addition is all the cool products out there. I'll have to give that soap a try. As you say, I'm showering and washing my face before shaving anyway...

I shower then use it before every shave. I make my lather, then wash my face with hot water and Musgo. I don't wash the soap off, I apply my lather over the slick glycerin base. Does it help, for me the answer is yes.
