You may want to try the Level 2sb plate first. The Level 1is mild but efficient but if you like the ATT R1, you could probably use the CG Level 2 ss plate.

I would say the Level 2 SB or dc would work for you.

I never venture to my ATT H1 because it scares me. The ATT R1/2 is perfect. And my Charcoal Lvl2 OC is in-line with the R line.

Good to know. Thanks.

Would you be willing to talk a little bit about the qualitative differences between the R1 and the Charcoal level 2? How is the shave different between the two?

just got the lvl 3 open comb with magnum hammered handle in bright finish.  Used it today.  Excellent 3-pass BBS shave.  Wow!

Congrats! Same one I have and it's a very efficient razor and Brian makes wonderful razors. Love the Magnum handle and of course the whole darn razor is great!

I've used the level 3 solid bar twice now.

I'm impressed.
Very smooth. I am sensitive too. My skin is at least...

No irritation. No razor burn. I'm usually two and half passes and touchups. Yesterday I was apprehensive and went very gently one pass then touch ups. Today I was a little more confident while still being mindful. One pass then another opposite direction or across in places. Felt for any ares that needed touchups. Nadda.

This is outstanding. I'm going to try and keep going. In the past I've been overconfident because of smooth results in the morning but got irritation later in the day or ingrowns later in the week. So far two days down and no indication of either of those problems.

I think it felt similar if not a touch more efficient than my Tradere SB. Similar smoothness feeling and sensation of walking in the vicinity of the "edge" of getting bitten without nesesarrily riding on it. Unlike the Tradere though it is surprisingly nimble in tight spots like under my nose.

It's smooth.
It's efficient. A much bigger step from level 2 to 3 than there is between 1 and 2.

I have level 2 SB and OC and a level 3 SB. The level 3 is great on fleshy areas, but for me, has too much blade exposure for head shaving.

I absolutely love Charcoal Goods work.
