Nivea Men, Post Shave BALM, SENSITIVE, 3.3 Fl. oz.

Readily available, at Wal-Mart for $5-6. Also, on amazon and other places.
Made in Germany by Beiersdorf. It has around for a while, and has excellent reviews.

Look into shea butter. Shea nilotica east african shea butter is my favorite. Very little goes a long way!

If you're experiencing razor bumps and ingrown hairs, I'd focus on mapping your beard growth and developing your technique. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Proraso makes a nice protective and moisturizing balm.  Not too much scent and I like it a lot.

I like Proraso and Nivea.  Stirling also makes a damn good balm, and their no-alcohol witch hazel splash is pretty good too.

Another vote for Santa Maria Novella Emulsione Analcolica if money aren't object.

Try Soap Commander unscented with or without menthol it's very calmer and light cooling (menthol) and feels so good all day, if you don't mind scent grab Vison feels sensational. As for Nivea for Men great scent but it has alcohol sometimes it sting my face but awesome moisturizer.

Myrsol emulsion is fantastic...a big step up from the likes of Nivea balm etc. Great if you've had a rough shave or left the skin a bit tender.
Pre shave prep will also help with how how your face is left after a shave, as will trying to find soaps and blades that suit you

I don't know how sensitive you are to all types of alcohols, but Nivea, Proraso, et al. all have alcohol in them, even the balms.  They are not the types of alcohols you would associate with an alcohol-based A/S, however.  Nivea has panethol, isopropyl palmitate, bisabolol, and phenoxyethanol.  The Proraso balm has eythylhexyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, menthyl acetate, and phenoxyethanol.  Many of these are esters of alcohol.

If you have true sensitivities to alcohol-based products, I would recommend you consult with a dermatologist.  If you are just want to avoid alcohol-based ingredients, just investigate the ingredient list.  I tend to prefer artisan products because they tend to use ingredients that are easier to research.

VERY sensitive skin here

Ranked Best First:
ABC - but GOD expensive
Al's the thick balm - but the scents are hideous
Trumpers skin food any scent
Proraso Balm White or Blue
Institute Karite Balm - but gets sticky after drying

The ABC Balm is best but terribly expensive

You’ve gotten several recommendations already, but I’ll muddy the waters further-

I would recommend L’Occitane Aftershave balm. It’s my favorite non-artisan aftershave balm by far.

Here are 4 to try,

L'Occitane Cade balm (very light cologne-type scent)
Pre de Provence regular scent, a light green sage (not cooking sage)
Baum.be (designed for sensitive skin, light cologne that lingers a bit)
MdC Huille Vegetale Note: a little of this goes a very LONG way. It's basically coconut oil lightly scented with chamomile and citron I think.

Cheers, Steve

+1 for Nivea PSB sensitive

Myrsol Emulsion is another good pick, but the scent is not my favorite (although I would not call it bad)
