An almost empty bowl. I'm serious. It's almost gone.

Bet very few of us have ever seen such a thing.

Purchased it last August or September, and into the rotation it went. I initially thought it was just pretty good, but time changes things. Spring came, and, once again, I had skin sensitivity issues, or something like that. Everything seemed to bother my face. So, I switched to only Krokos, and Eureka!, no more problem. Maybe it was the magical powers of saffron, who knows?

I had some problems lathering it at first, which seems quite strange, because now it lathers beautifully every time. And, the moisturizing is great.

Since I'm slowly working towards unscented soaps and creams, Krokos has been ideal. I'm going to order another jar. Expensive as heck, but well worth it for me. (I consider it unscented, but perhaps technically that is not correct)

I figure this one will be gone in a week or two.

Have you ever seen an empty bowl?

With the supply of soaps many of us have, this can indeed be a rare sight.

Years ago, when I had fewer soaps, I would periodically finish a container.  Now, with so many good soaps available, finishing all of them seems unlikely.  I'm more likely to PIF some soaps than to go through them.

Exactly.  And I plan to do just that in the next few weeks.  After all, I  need more room for....  Tongue

It can be done Smile I've stopped buying anything new this year, save replacements for finished products. With that in mind, I've completely exhausted two CRSW tins and am working on a third.

Being new to the soaps & creams, I'm amazed at how little it really takes. In a effort to improve some issues, I've been following Mike's advice of "load it like you hate it"; even then in a full week of shaves I used only about 1/3 of a (1" diameter x 3/4" tall) Stone Cottage Soap sample cream. Rotating a different sample each week, it will be awhile before I see the bottom of even one of the 5 samples.
FWIW, I love the scent and performance of these products so far.

Earlier this year I took part in a start-to-finish (a.k.a. 3017) effort with a puck of treated Williams Mug Soap.
It took 48 shaves!

I am definitely holding the line on new purchases, after having gotten some samples for variety.

I expect to report some finishes in due course.

GOING, GOING...

Won't be long now.  Before the end of next week for sure.

But, Italian Barber is sold out.  May have to order from Abbate Y La Mantia in Italy.  Can't find anywhere else that carries it.

Barbiere di Figaro carries it. Since the shipping is the same for 1 jar or 4 jars, I decided to try a few others as well. Hey, my first purchase of 2017.

I don't buy much anymore, but when I do, I have it delivered at work. I've probably got a decade's worth of soap, so I have no excuse for needing more... OSmile

EMPTY!

Last shave this morning.  Geez, I haven't seen the bottom of a shaving jar in a very long time.

I received word today that my shipment from Barbiere di Figaro is at the sorting centre in The Netherlands.  I'll be smelling that saffron again in no time.

I ended up giving several tubs away as I wanted to open up some new soaps, when I started I went on a fast ride and kept buying and buying as i thought its soap and will go fast, well fast forward several years and i still had soaps that I started with so i boxed them up and gave away and opened new, I shave every day and load a brush like I won't see tomorrow but it still goes down super slow.

I have been wet shaving around 10 years , if I had to guess I would say I have finished 5 total products in that time (counting soap , cream , a/s etc.)

i started out as a minimalist shaver.  the other day i saw the bottom of Shannon´s Silk Pijamas.  It was my first tallow soap.  I haven't look back.  To keep my mind in its place, i use that same container as a blade bank.  The thing is, i am committed to keep it real, but i love Shannon´s, Viking and Asylum soaps so much that i am doing tricks already.  for example:  i lended my futur to my brother for a week.  he likes it so much that he wants to buy it from me.  i was not even going to ask for it back, but... Noooooo! It is sold for the total grand price of two pucks of soap!  First i said Asylum, but now it is going to be any of my three favorites.  i will let him choose, and then use for a while.  then they will be mine... buajajajajaj!!!!!

Truly a rare sighting in the wild, a very endangered species in today's world of wet-shaving riches.
Congratulations!

Despite my earlier remarks, I think I reached the bottom of only the following soaps, but they occurred some time ago:  MWF, Speick Stick, AOS, Valobra Stick, MdC Brain Bowl.  It might not happen again, though, unless I sell off all but my favorites.
