Back around mid-November of last year (I think it was right after our first release since suspending sales due to moves in June 2016) chiefthunder, a friend from before the beginning of Paladin going back to the M&F Group Buy, ask me if we'd consider making some specially engraved brushes to serve as presents for the groomsmen in his wedding. As a matter of fact, Cody and I had discussed pursuing such opportunities when we were engaged in ex post facto rationalization of a $25K+ investment in our laser engraver in early 2015. At that time we had no idea how things would pan out; we were flying on a wing and a prayer.
This past November I assumed we'd catch up to demand fairly soon, build some inventory in our online brush shop, and likely be looking for other ways to sell brushes, pay the bills, etc, fairly soon. Jorge's wedding date wasn't until late May, so after kicking it around a little, Cody and I said "sure".
It has been a great honor and a lot of fun to do the project. It has also taught us a great deal. Although we're very grateful to have been offered the opportunity, and it was a lot of fun to do, it was also time-consuming and stressful. I'll probably end up saying some more about the project in due course. But for now I just want to give a heads-up that Jorge plans to post about it himself (and entirely of his own volition). I won't say we'll never do another project like this. I think all three of us hope we will. But I don't think it will be anytime soon. Until we can better meet demand for brushes offered in our shop, that needs to be our strong focus. So I thought I should put this out before Jorge says whatever he has to say.
By the way, Jorge is getting married on Friday. That also happens to be Cody's birthday.

This one offers a little more real-estate for engraving. I think Cody will probably have some fun with it.

Thanks guys! Big day is Friday, super exciting times for me that's for sure. I'll probably make a post of the wedding gifts today, it's a project that I'm super proud of and I hope the groomsmen really enjoy the kits. It has been an absolute pleasure communicating with Ken and Cody, they have made this occasion even more special. The brushes, of course, are truly beautiful and exceeded even my expectations!

Thanks, Jorge. But in fairness I have to say it was much more Cody than me who pulled the laboring oar on this project.
