I also own the C&S and a puck of Fine (American Blend). I get a fantastic, cushiony and protective lather from both soaps. I might put the C&S slightly ahead in two areas:
1) Complexity of scent. Some gents like an intricate and nuance-filled scent. 

2) Post shave. I think that here again, C&S edges out Fine. 
$35 vs. $12. 
You can enjoy 3 different Fine soaps for the price of one C&S. That should be a consideration before a purchase.

Fine products are nothing more than cheap copies of items that are currently in production. I would never give a penny to a company where the entire business model is based on making money off of the creativity of others.
