Gentlemen,
There has been a running thread about MdC rose on another forum and rumors there and maybe here were that the rose would be re-released for Father's day, which is Fête des Pères, June 18th in France. One of the members emailed MdC and got a reply from Isabelle. What she said:
There will be another issue of rose later this year, but not for Father's Day.
There will be a new scented shaving soap released for Father's Day, but she did not name the scent.
Now an observation, every shaving soap they've released so far has had a corresponding bath soap in the olive oil line and in fact they've had rose bath soap long before the shaving soap and both are the same scent. There's only one olive oil bath soap scent left after the release of rose and vetiver, and that's thym, girofle, et canelle, of thyme, clove and cinnamon. I've had the bath soap for a couple of years and it is indeed a warm masculine scent that I've been hoping to see in a MdC shaving soap. Fingers crossed! Of course they could come up with something new from scratch.
Cheers, Steve

I have the Rose in the new jar, and the Fougere in the old glass jar. The Rose plastic jar is hefty and strong, and would survive a drop on the tile floor, I suspect. When I ordered the Rose, I was a bit concerned about the "cheapening" of the MdC experience, but no longer. The new packaging is better, in my opinion.

The new containers look just like the old and have fooled people. You can tell they're not as heavy and they feel 'warmer', I suppose because plastic insulates better and is lighter.
If you've ever dropped a MdC glass jar on a tile floor you'll be glad of the new jars. Don't ask me how I know...

Agreed. I'm stuck with what I've got.
Don't feel the temptation any more.
Shaving soap scent burn out ??
The allure of scented soaps has never been top priority to me. Witness the fact that my favorite soaps are the AOS tallow, Vintage Williams, Vintage Old Spice, Tabac, MWF, et al. Like you, the way I want to "smell" is what aftershave/EdT/EdC I choose. I do enjoy my MdC, but not any more than I enjoy AOS. Not to mention, the premium cost of MdC. When my 2 jars are empty...I am chuckling

Great thanks! If it has the glass look and feel but the durability of plastic that's a win win.

Interesting information. Like many others my supply of MdC alone would extend well into the future. For me, most likely, a daily shave for the next 8-10 years. Excellent quality in every scent. I will resist the urge to add a new scent but remain interested in learning more about the new offering.

The new fragrance is agrume or citrus. Here's the description from their site. Rose and vetiver are back, but the vetiver is not available or already sold out.
'The "Citrus" ... The unparalleled freshness of lemon, grapefruit, Bergamot ... What subtle notes, fragile, difficult to harmonize and fix for a perfumer when it works only with essential oils Rigorously natural. This is how Martin de Candre continues his journey by creating for you today a shaving soap called "Citrus"!
It is the foam MdC, generous, unctuous, all soft and deliciously fragrant: it's good !! ... A new shave to savor !!! ...'
