It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of the OneBlade razor. Many wet shaving enthusiasts have expressed interest in OneBlade too, but the razor's price held some back.
Now there may be no more excuses. OneBlade has created a version of their razor from inexpensive materials and have just announced pre-orders at...$50!
The new razor, known as "OneBlade Core," is very similar in design (same blade, same head specifications, visually similar) to the original OneBlade but is made mostly from plastic (though there is a Stainless Steal rod in the handle to give the razor better stiffness, weight, and balance. OneBlade has reserved 250 units for Sharpologist readers. Shipping scheduled for around June 9. MOD EDIT - link removed. If you prefer you can order through OneBlade's main website but razor availability is not guaranteed).
Am I getting a OneBlade Core to evaluate? Darn right I am! I've been promised one of the first production razors and I will be posting my review on Sharpologist and on my Youtube channel soon. But if you're hankerin' for a OneBlade you may not want to wait. At that price the first production run is sure to sell out quickly.

1-2 shaves per blade for me, then toss.
These blades don't last as long as Feather AC, GEM SE, or most conventional DE blades, for me.

I ordered from link that mantic59 provided. I have their SS version and love it. It's the razor for which you don't need to think about angle and all those technical things we discuss all the time here. Just take the razor and do 2 passes and get BBS

I can see the logic since they have only one shaving side. Thanks

I'm glad to see they made a cheaper alternative for those that don't want to spend or are unable to spend to get the original Oneblade, however I am personally not a fan of plastic razors so I'm wondering and interested to hear how this shaves. This might make for a good travel razor though for those that do not want to bring the original with them while traveling. I have a V2 which I love, and a V1 on the way to use with Gem blades, but this is still tempting!!

Depends on your beard. I can only get one decent shave from a FHS blade but I can get up to TEN fantastic shaves from a single de-spined GEM PTFE blade.
Outside of taking off the Gem blade guard is there any other modification that you do in order for it to fit the Oneblade?

Not me. I just despine them and shove them in. I have a nibbler, but I don't use it anymore. For me, it doesn't improve the shave.
