Absolutely correct Johnny!
I don't do parades for Memorial Day. Instead I do a movie at home. This year, just serendipity really, it wasn't planned. I'd seen it before, but by some fluke Netflix delivered Hacksaw Ridge. Excellent movie that will definitely drive home the point of Memorial Day. It's not for children. Don't be lulled into thinking it will be by the content of the first half of the movie. It's an excellent movie though and Mel Gibson stated that if they had told the real truth of Desmond Doss that no one would have believed it. He was probably correct. Here is his MOH citation, it's definitely worth the time to read: http://www.desmonddoss.com/medal-of-honor/
Another good movie for Memorial Day is the movie aptly named Memorial Day. The WW2 movie not the horror flick. I think it was made in 2012. Netflix has it on DVD, I don't know if it's streaming.
Yet another is We Were Soldiers.

We all need to remember who, what, where, and why! Today especially, but everyday as well.
I remember:
My uncle - Verne E. Hodson of Waukegan, IL - KIA - KOREA
My cousin - James Richard Teffs of Tulsa, OK - KIA - 'NAM
For those of you here who have lost friends and family in the defense of OUR freedom......I remember for them as well.
